You host Jaydeep lives in a joint family (two families living together), and their kitchen is used by everyone. Even though Jaydeep knows the basics, his mother and aunt will be cooking with you during your experience. Jaydeep is the only one who speaks English, so he will be present throughout the entire experience, translating and giving you more information on the different ingredients used.
Jaydeep's grandfather owns a big property in a village in the desert, and a lot of the ingredients you will be using come straight from there. In the 45 min cooking class you will learn to make vegetable and roll rotis (flatbreads). Jaydeep will also be happy to show you how to make a star shaped cookie that he learned from his mother and can cook perfectly!
Rajasthani cuisine was influenced by both the war-like lifestyles of its inhabitants and the availability of ingredients in this arid region. Locals prefer to use dried and preserved ingredients in their cooking.
