On your tour, your EcoGuide will provide an active, education based private tour that is fully licensed and insured, and customized to your group's specific interests and abilities. With this in mind, your guide can do as much (or as little) hiking as you prefer.
On this tour, you will meet your guide in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park and spend most of your time in the trails and in the field (as opposed to being in a vehicle all day). At the summit, there will be several excellent hikes for you choose from. Some trails available to you will be rarely accessed areas that few people are able to explore. While exploring, your guide will educate you on the local flora and fauna, geology and the amazing Hawaiian culture that still thrives at Kilauea today.
We do not offer tour buses or vans while on tour. You will have the option of using your own vehicle while on tour if you prefer a 'road based' exploration. In this case, your professional guide will ride along with you and guide you to several points of interest around the volcano itself, including the 'Chain of Craters' road and other off the beaten paths areas of the National Park.
