Your 3-hour bike tour begins at the bike shop where you’ll check-in and
get fitted for your bike and helmet. You will then follow your guide
through the historic town of Tavernier, down the Old Highway and into
Islamorada.
Your guide will tell you about the founding families who
settled the islands and the hardships they endured. Learn about the
native Indians who first lived on these islands and their encounters
with Spanish explorers. Relive an era when British descendants and
Bahamians came to settle present day Islamorada and about how the rum
running business developed in the area. You’ll also gear stories about
the infamous 1935 Labor Day Hurricane, the most intense hurricane to hit
the United States.
This tour covers approximately 12 miles (19 km)
each way, is easy paced and makes approximately 10 stops through the
tropical island village. All equipment and bottled water are included. Upon completion of the tour you can either return back to the shop with
your guide or hang out in Islamorada and ride back at your convenience.
