Start your day on Maui at the top of the world! This small-group guided tour, for just up to eight guests, gives you an exclusive view of the famed Haleakala sunrise. Travel in a luxury limo-van up to Haleakala National Park, where you’ll arrive at the crater summit 10,000 feet (3,000 meters) above sea level. As the sun peaks over the horizon, you’ll be greeted by glowing rays and a pastel sky, creating a landscape like nothing you’ve ever seen. After the sunrise, make your way to a local restaurant for breakfast, followed by a trip to a protea garden to see ancient and exotic flowers native to Maui.

Greet the sun from the top of Haleakala National Park as it crests over the horizon. This small-group tour starts early, but is well worth the wake-up call! Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in a luxury limo-van limited to eight passengers and escort you on a 1.5-hour journey to Haleakala National Park. After you arrive at the summit, a light snack will be provided to hold you over until breakfast later (included).

Ascend the volcano to the crater summit, where it will seem like you are standing on top of the world. The drive takes you 35 miles (56 km) from sea level up to an elevation of 10,000 feet (3,000 meters)! As the sun rises over the horizon, watch the magnificent array of colors take over the morning sky. Your guide will give you pointers on where to enjoy the best views, making sure you get the most out of this unforgettable experience.

After the sunrise, join your guide for breakfast at a charming Hawaiian-style restaurant that offers sweeping views of the countryside. Once you’ve energized, head to a protea garden to see a collection of exotic flowering plants, 90 of which grow on Maui. (Protea is the botanical name for a species of wildflowers that are most commonly found in South Africa and Australia but can also be found on the island of Maui.) Your guide will take you on a tour of the garden, explaining the heritage of the flowers and how they ended up on Maui.

By 10:30am to 11:30am, you’ll be back at your hotel with the whole day ahead of you!

Had a great tour of Haleakala Crater and our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable. Scotty had us there first in line for our photos of the sunrise. We were fortunate the weather cooperated with us and we didn't freeze too much, although Scotty had us covered there too and had extra jackets for us to wear. Breakfast afterwards was a welcome addition. All in all a great experience.

This tour was epic! The guide was fun and knowledgeable, knew where we had to be and when. The sunrise was spectacular, what was unexpected was how simply amazing the stargazing was prior to the sun showing up - and the guide knew everything to point out! EPIC!

Amazing Experience - well worth the 2 am pick up time.

Aaron was a great host and so knowledgeable. He got us up there nice and early and we got a great spot a bit out of the wind. It was really cold and cannot recommend how important it is to dress right and with all that a blanket is necessary as well. An amazing experience from beginning to end despite getting up at 2:20am. The thousands of stars in the sky and just being there for this new day to begin. Fantastic and something everyone should do at least once. The Hawaiin chant as the sun rose to welcome the new day. You have to do it. Breakfast at the Kula Lodge was nummy.
