The first stop is Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, one of the country’s premier institutions of higher education. After a brief stroll, go from this elite university to another: Harvard University, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In Boston, walk the Freedom Trail and cross Boston Common. Pass by Trinity Church and other historic buildings in the city. Stop for lunch at Quincy Market for a lobster roll or the famous clam chowder (lunch and dinner at own expense). After lunch, visit the site of the original Tea Party and the USS Constitution. In the early evening, relax on the drive north to New Hampshire.
Overnight: La Quinta Inn Manchester
Day 2: Nashua Trois-Rivi?res (B)
After a continental breakfast, drive out of New Hampshire and into Vermont, stopping to make a pilgrimage to the famous Ben & Jerry’s ice cream factory. Sample your favorite ice cream and then continue on, crossing the U.S./Canadian border (don’t forget your passport!) and heading to the town of Trois-Rivi?res, or Three Rivers. Upon arrival, tour the nearly 400-year-old city, where you’ll sleep for the next two nights.

Day 3: Trois-Rivi?res Quebec City (B)
Enjoy a continental breakfast and then drive east along the St Lawrence River. Explore beautiful Quebec City with its Old World charm, visiting the ramparts of the old city walls. Discover the Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham, City Hall, and the birthplace of French culture in North America. Then stop at one of the many sidewalk cafes for lunch (own expense).
After lunch, board a boat and sail down the St Lawrence River, getting a unique vantage point on the city from the river. As a guide clad in a historical outfit regales you with tales of Quebec City, sit back and enjoy the 90-minute cruise.

Day 4: Trois-Rivi?res Montreal (B)
Relax with a continental breakfast at your hotel, and then drive west along the St Lawrence River to Montreal, Canada’s great city of culture and gastronomy. Tour the old town, stopping to gawk at City Hall, St. Joseph’s Cathedral and the Basilica of Notre Dame. Ascend to the top of Mount Royal and enjoy the great view from one of the three peaks, which are as high as 765 feet (233 meters).
From there, go down. Way down. Descend to the underground city, where there are numerous restaurants, cafes and shops. That evening, visit the old part of the city and Jack Cartier Square, watching street performers and enjoying some exciting nightlife.

Day 5 Montreal New York City (B)
After a continental breakfast, cross the border back into the United States, making a stop in charming Saratoga Springs, home to natural hot springs, a famous horse racetrack and plenty of rolling verdant parks.
