On this tour your guide will learn how to tell when the cacao pods are ripe, taste the fresh sweet cacao pulp, help harvest cacao, and see how it’s fermented and dried. Then after an hour break for lunch at one of Kailua’s many great eateries, your guide will welcome you behind the scenes at their shop to roast, crack, & winnow your own cacao, sample a traditional Mexican chocolate drink, see how they grind and temper chocolate into bars and dip a delicious local fruit in their rich dark chocolate to eat on the spot. You’ll be ready to start your own cacao farm & bean-to-bar chocolate shop after this tour!
