At your selected departure time, you'll be picked up from your Palm Desert hotel, or you can meet at the Ralph's supermarket in Palm Desert. Get ready for your Joshua Tree adventure during your 1-hour drive east to Joshua Tree National Park.

This immense national park is one of California's most famous, offering a slew of fun outdoor activities and scenic landscapes. When you arrive, hop aboard an open-air, 4WD Jeep with your expert guide and begin traveling along a rugged backcountry trail.

From the Colorado Desert, journey through the Little San Bernardino Mountains, a short mountain range of the Transverse Ranges, up to the Mojave Desert at more than 4,000 feet (1,219 meters) in elevation. You'll be treated to magnificent unspoiled desert vistas, spectacular rock formations and geological features, and your guide will point out interesting plants and wildlife along the way. Be sure to bring a camera!

After your Joshua Tree adventure, relax on the smooth ride back to Palm Desert.

A very bumpy (but fun) way to spend an afternoon. You'll see part of the Joshua Tree NP that you definitely wouldn't see otherwise. But make time to see the rest of it by yourself.

Wonderful guide who took pains to educate and share his knowledge of the area, which was extensive as a native of the area. Back road tour of places an outsider would have no knowledge -- beautiful, amazing scenery with a close up view of nature and great care taken to make sure visitors were okay, hydrated, and learned about what was of specific interest to the visitors. He also was very careful with the land and took pains to not disturb the natural beauty in very difficult terrain. Memorable trip!
