My wife and I had a blast! From the moment our tour group breezed through the border to our exploration of Tijuana, Puerto Nuevo and Rosarito, our admiration of both the people and tourism efforts grew by the minute. It helped so much that Juan, our informative and entertaining Tour Guide/Driver, provided interesting tidbits of the places he brought us to. For lunch, Juan took us to Puerto Nuevo and they offered a variety of seafood to choose from. I had the garlic shrimp and my wife ordered the Sea Bass whole fish - these were simply cooked but a gastronomic delight! This was our first trip to Mexico and definitely NOT the last. Should we be in Southern California again, we will book the other tour to Mexico Ensenada with Juan, of course!

We went the city center of Tijuana, border and Rosarito.
Those places are so nice, but the lunch was awful.
And the guide left the bus before we across the border againhe lives at Tijuana, we lost at the immigration, we have no idea which line we should go.
I think this trip is little too expensive.

Great one day trip. 10 hrs. total time. Guide and driver did a great job, kind and respectful.
Would take this tour again.

Very good tour. Juan was a very good tour guide. We visited downtown Tijuana, Puerto Nuevo, and Rosarito Beach. The meal at Puerto Nuevo was excellent. Get the fish. One downside is people were always trying to sell stuff. But for a first time visit to Baja California is was a minor inconvenience.

Good overall for getting a taste of Mexico and could have been better see the following.
1. Viator the booking website was not in sync with the pick up details with the tour operator. Viator website offered free pick up at locations not covered by the tour operator. Called the tour operator the day before to confirm pick up details without getting confirmation. The tour operator should send an email confirming pick up details. Ended up paying additional 30 for pick up.
2. Bus was comfortable however could not hear the tour guide sitting at the back of the bus. The microphone system was not loud enough to overcome bus noise.
3. Tour guide needs to confirm return time and location at each stop and make sure everyone knows. Had to ask other customers.
4. Found the lobster Ortegas Rosarito at our table of 4 over cooked in some case and just right in others. Service was slow to set up silver ware place mat and serve chips and salsa. I had the beef fahita which arrived first and was tasty.
5. Happy to see Tiajuana and Rosarito again after decades hiatus.

This trip is worth it, beats the hassle of driving yourself.. Rosarito beach was packed with people and carnival like..

Great trip

I wish I could rate this trip a negative because I couldn't take it. After booking the trip with Viator, you are left at the mercy of the local company that operates the tour. AND there you have it. I had to deal with the worst experience of my life. To cut the long story short, I couldn't take this trip because the company never called me to confirm the pick up time and when I called multiple times no one picked up the phone. Finally when I got someone, it was 8.45 AM and the tour was leaving at 9 AM. They said they would pick me up from my destination which was very close if I paid 30 to the driver. I agreed but then the driver refused to come I was barely 5 minutes away from the pick up place. I called them again and a very angry and rude woman told me it was not her problem and if I can make it to their pick up location by 9 AM, I can go on the tour. Took an Uber, called her at 8.57 that I am on my way, two streets down and will be there ASAP. Got there at 9.02. The tour had left they couldn't wait for 2 minutes. When I asked the woman that could she not have waited for 2 extra minutes for a trip that was going to last for the entire day, she said and I quote I don't have time to argue with you get out of my office.
Even though, it was primarily the local company's fault, I blame Viator for partnering with such companies. I formal complaint is on the way. I have traveled extensively in many different countries, and this was the most horrific experience ever! Shame on Viator and shame on Five Star Tour company of Sad Diego.

Overall the trip was good and the lunch was excellent. Crossing border took very little time and the guide seemed to very knowledgeable about this. the rip was very enjoyable and sufficient time was given for each place. I only have one major concern. The tour guide/ driver seems to forget/reluctant putting seat belt on and he even told me during pick up from hotel that it was not necessary for me and up to me. After driving some distance for each travel hand in out trip, he only put on the belt when the car alarm was on, This s dangerous not only for him, but for all passengers in any unfortunate event. He should be told to fix his seat belt before starting to drive. I also wonder why the seat belt alarm did not go on until after sometimes into the driving. Although it was a great trip, the cost could have been within 100. It was a bit pricey than other trips that I took with Viator.
