THe actual tour was good however getting the tickets was a huge problem. We walked Fishermans Wharf trying to redeem tickets and were redirected to a tour office.
They wouldn't let us redeem tickets until the day and we were advised to be at the office by 9.00am such a waste of holiday time.

There appeared to be no appropriate communication between the ticket office where we were required to collect our prepaid ticket to Alcatraz and the Hop on/Hop off bus as having told the bus guide and received our bus ticket 'on time' that we were going to Alcatraz via the ferry, the bus guide failed to tell us or announce to get off at the appropriate terminal Stop 12 for Alcatraz ferry and took us on over the Golden Gate bridge!!!

Overall a good experience as we were able to see much of the city that we otherwise wouldn't have. Busses didn't necessarily come every 20 minutes as we were told they would...sometimes it was up to 40 minutes between busses. Tour guides were knowledgeable. The Alcatraz tour was very good. The guided audio tour is a definite must...lots of good information you wouldn't get otherwise.

Very good with doing

It was a trek to get to the bus depot and when we arrived, they did not have any Alcatraz tickets for us, even though we had booked and confirmed. They said we could come back the following day to see if they had any, but this did not suit our plans, so we missed out on Alcatraz altogether. We are getting a refund for this part of the ticket, but we were very disappointed on missing out. The hop on hop off bus was good.

A good insight into the city. Incredibly cold on the top deck for the night tour in mid may. Gets chilly in the evenings do sit inside.

Alcatraz what an experience then to have the flexibility of the 48 hour hop on hop off ticket is the way to see the sights and get your prospective of San Francisco. Highly recommend

Ticket validation for hop on hop off bus was inconvenient having to find other transport down to office, collection of the Alcatraz tickets 9am the following day was also iconvenient, To top it off our tour was not until 2pm. Better communication is required on the process.
