From the moment you step on board the clean and comfortable Miramar 11 ferry at South Brisbane until the time you return 5 hours later this is a wonderful experience. The commentary up river on the 1.25 hour journey is informative and amusing and the sights are great. The collection of Australian fauna at Lone Pine is comprehensive and the facilities and surroundings are very good. The platypus enclosure is exceptional. 3 full hours at Lone Pine is plenty to see all the animals, watch a demonstration or 2 and get something to eat ( at very fair prices). The journey down river is accompanied by some great Australian gush music. By the way, the homemade sausage rolls on the ferry are scrumptious ! A great day and a great ferry crew who are wonderful ambassadors for Brisbane.

Boat ride down the river was lovely...with just the right amount of narration ( if you get my drift)
Heaps of time at the sanctuary..very interesting...? too cute for words.
All in all a great way to spend the day.

had a great day out. the boat cruise had very friendly and helpful staff and the cruise was very informative.Lone pine - is well setup and we enjoyed the day there probably needed another hour tho. we skipped holding a koala as the line was at least an hour long and we would of missed everything else.

It was a really hot day but with the breeze on the boat and lots of shade at Lone Pine, we were ok. Would really recommend this tour if you want a good look at the river and you love Australian animals. Lots of fun!

Very pleasant river cruise to the sanctuary, with accompanying commentary of the passing points of interest. The sanctuary was very interesting, with various displays/presentations ..I’ve never had an Owl fly straight at me before...Great Day Out

The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is a fabulous place to experience. One part of the experience that is a must is to pay for the opportunity to take a photo while holding a Koala!! My guy, Hamlet, was so soft and sweet and smelled like Eucalyptus. The sanctuary houses over 130 Koalas and lots of other indigenous animals. It was a great Australia experience that is a must if staying in the Brisbane area. The river trip was really nice, too, with a great tour along the way.

We really enjoyed this tour, despite the 36 degree temperatures and high humidity. Luckily, there was plenty of shade at the sanctuary. The commentary on the boat was really good: informative and amusing at the same time. The sanctuary itself has more than just koalas, although there were about 130 koalas there! Great information, some good shows, including a raptor flying show and a sheepdog demo. Wonderful for children, although we don't have any.I've given this 4 stars only because I'm gluten-intolerant and there was very little available for me. My lunch consisted of two bags of crisps (chips) and a GF biscuit. I discussed this with the staff and they told me that they don't get much demand for GF food, so they just don't find it worthwhile catering for special diets at all. So if you have any particular dietary requirements, you might want to pack a picnic lunch.

From beginning to end it was a once in a lifetime adventure! A must see down under! Such an incredible experience to hold koalas, pet and feed kangaroos and wallabies.
