This thoroughly "Aussie" night begins with a hearty barbecue dinner of steak, chicken, prawns and salads, including juice and soft drinks throughout the evening. After feasting on dinner, you'll join your intrepid guide to see what some Australians get up to after dark! Supplied with your own flashlight, you'll be led into the darkness to meet Australia's creatures of the night. You'll see crocodile eyes glow in the torchlight, learn how owls hunt, touch a possum and pat a koala. On clear nights the guides will take you star gazing to see the Southern Cross, Big Dipper and other well-known constellations.
You'll also join the Zoo's resident swagman and tame kangaroos for traditional billy tea and bush damper around the campfire, and enjoy great Aussie live entertainment. This fabulous fun night out is one to remember!
Centrally located Cairns or Palm Cove hotels. Self Drive option commences at Cairns Tropical Zoo.

Absolutely worth doing. I went to many zoos while in Australia, but all were during the day. Night zoo is very different experience. All the creatures that are usually asleep or inactive during the day come to life after dark and it's a great time. If you are considering a koala cuddle and plan to visit other zoos, I would advise against doing it here. It's a 5 second koala cuddle photo, you don't get a lot of interaction time. If you're a koala fan like myself, I would recommend a koala encounter at Australian zoo instead.

A most enjoyable night out in Cairns, thanks largely to the brilliant staff - Excellent BBQ, wonderful torch-light excursion around the zoo, followed by the best billy tea and damper and a fun bush band and dancing, where everyone, particularly the kids, were encouraged to join in. Great value, great fun...

the food was good and seeing the animals was informative. i loved holding the koala, but it is an extra price to do so. by the time you get to the area to interact with the kangaroos, there isn't much time and they were hard to find.

Having the opportunity to see the animals in a nighttime setting was amazing, the animals were very active and the information provided on them and on the zoo was very interesting. Feeding the kangaroos and getting to pose with the Kuala bears was a special treat. They also fed the crocodiles, captivating! The barbecue was prepared while you got an introductory meet and greet with your fellow tourist over some wine and or beer and snacks that were provided. The food was excellent and the entertainment after the tour was fun. The best wildlife experience we had while we in Australia.

Fantastic evening staff excellent and knowledgable. BBQ smashing and free beer. Animals great we got to interact with the kangaroos feeding and petting them. Entertainment after great dining and dancing with group interaction. If you only book one tour make sure it's this one the experience is fantastic
