After morning pickup at your Darwin hotel, travel by air-conditioned coach about 90 minutes to Corroboree Billabong. Along the way, enjoy live commentary from your expert guide and a stop at Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre, where interactive displays and superb views give you an excellent introduction to the northern coastal wetlands ecosystem.
When you arrive at the Corroboree Billabong, hop aboard a roomy open-sided boat with a full-length shade canopy. Your knowledgeable guide points out a huge variety of wildlife throughout the 2.5-hour cruise.
You may spot jabiru, ibis, brolga, jacana, egrets, herons, kites, sea eagles, whistling ducks and magpie geese among many other birds in this area, which shelters more than 30 different species. And be sure to keep an eye out for crocs: Corroboree Billabong is part of the Mary River Wetlands, which boasts the world’s largest concentration of giant reptiles! Depending on the time of year and day, the crocs may be swimming in the water or sunning themselves on the banks.
At midday, enjoy a picnic lunch to eat on board the boat as you float along in nature with your guide. The lunch consists of prepared salads, plus sliced meats and bread for sandwiches. Cold drinking water is available throughout the cruise.
It is recommended that you bring a hat and sun protection, as well as a camera and binoculars. This tour operates with a maximum of 32 people, allowing you to enjoy the advantages of a smaller group.
At the end of your boat cruise on the wetlands, return to your coach for the trip back to Darwin, arriving in the early evening to end your tour.

Our guide Evan was great. Funny, engaging, seemed to really like what he does. Fogg Dam is nice as you go in but the viewing platform views nothing interesting. Might be different at different times of year. Window on The Wetlands is dated and boring. Billabong is good. Lunch is on the cheap side. Drive yourself if you can. Save on the cost.

It was a spur-of-the-moment decision to take this tour! We had a free day whilst visiting Darwin. It was brilliant. The guide was very well-informed of the region and the wildlife, and the wetlands themselves were inspiring. Birdlife in abundance, which my partner loved, being a bird-watcher, and surrounded continually by the lotus, in flower, and standing tall in the water. We saw the sea eagle multiple times, which I never tired of. One croc. Great lunch provided. I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone who loves wildlife, birds, or simply meandering through lotus water gardens.

The wet lands tour was so full of animals from the smallest birds to the largest with teeth. Our guide chris really knew the animals and she spotted them with ease. This tour is a good length and starting at 9am and finishing 530 instead most starting at 6 am and not finishing till 7 pm. A good one for the photographic tour.
