Relax on an air-conditioned coach trip from Darwin to Corroboree Billabong, an hour’s drive from Darwin, passing the outback town of Humpty Doo. Keep a lookout for kangaroos and wallabies hopping through the bush and take in the outback vistas of the Adelaide River’s dry floodplain.

Arriving at Corroboree Billabong, take a 1.5-hour cruise of the Mary River wetlands, the best place in Australia to spot saltwater crocodiles in their natural habitat.

Bring your camera to snap the wildlife and mangroves, as the high-powered boat navigates the waterways and takes you up close to birds, crocodiles, lotus flowers and water lilies. Your expert guide will provide insightful commentary and point out the myriad bird species, including sea eagles, jabiru storks, herons, kites, kingfishers and brolgas.

What a wonderful experience. Gliding along the water, seeing exotic birds, crocodiles resting on banks, wallabies by the water's edge and beautiful water lilies . Very pristine, unspoilt environment alive with wildlife. An unforgettable experience. Our guide on the boat was wonderful.

Our day trip to Mary River Wetlands was a wonderful experience. It began when I asked about car parking in the city of Darwin for the duration of our package deal only to be told that we would be picked up and dropped off at our hotel. We could just relax and enjoy our time on the wetlands without worry. Our driver and guides were friendly and happy. All up it was a great day.
