Day 1: Darwin, Edith Falls Nitmiluk Gorge(L, D) Depart Darwin at 7am traveling towards Edith Falls, a series of incredible waterfalls and pools on the Edith River. Next, head to the outback town of Katherine and home to the stunning Nitmiluk Gorge. This afternoon you will enjoy a Nitnit dreaming cultural cruise as you travel through the gorges and discover the history of the traditional land owners.
Day 2 and 3: Kununurra and Lake Argyle (B, L, D/B) Head west and cross the border into Western Australia as you travel to Kununurra. Enjoy a ground tour of the Lake Argyle area before boarding a boat for a relaxing cruise along the Ord River back to Kununurra.
Day 4 and 5: Bungle Bungles (B, L, D/B, L, D) Head south to Purnululu National Park, home of the magnificent Bungle Bungles. Enjoy two nights exploring the highlights of this extraordinary National Park. Here you can also take an optional scenic flight and enjoy a birds-eye view of the beehive domes (own expense) to put it all into perspective.
Day 6 and 7: Zebedee Springs and Chamerlain Gorge (B, L, D/B, L) Spend two nights at El Questro enjoying free time taking a refreshing dip in the Zebedee Springs, a cruise on Chamberlain Gorge, a bush tucker walk, a bird watching tour or simply explore the beautiful wilderness park at your own leisure.
Day 8: North Kimberley (B, L) Arrive at Drysdale station, the perfect scene for embracing the isolation and beauty of the North Kimberley. Day 9 and 10: Mitchell Plateau, Little and Big Merten Falls (B, L, D/B, L, D) Visit Mitchell Plateau, a highlight of the trip as you trek to Little and Big Merten Falls. Here you can take a dip in the pristine plunge pools and view the incredible Bradshaw rock art. Take an optional helicopter flight for a bird’s eye view of this extraordinary landscape (own expense). Day 11: Elizabeth Station Homestead (B, L, D) Travel to the family owned Mt Elizabeth Station Homestead and settle in for a lovely evening in the Kimberley outback. (
Day 12: Galvans Gorge, Adcock Gorge and Bell Gorge (B, L, D) Discover Galvans Gorge, and Adcock Gorge before pausing for a refreshing swim on your way to Silent Grove. Spend the afternoon exploring Bell Gorge, one of the most famous gorges along the Gibb River Road.
Day 13: Windjana Gorge (B, L, D) Today head to Windjana Gorge and search for freshwater crocodiles, local birdlife and Indigenous bush tucker before setting up camp. ( Day 14: Tunnel Creek, Derby 'Boab Prison Tree' and Broome (B, L, D) The morning is spent exploring Tunnel Creek, a 750-metre cave system carved through the Napier Range. After lunch, we return to the Gibb River Road and visit the Derby 'Boab Prison Tree' before completing our journey to Broome.
