At Mariners Cove Marina on Main Beach, step aboard the tall ship Sir Henry Morgan for a scenic cruise on Gold Coast Broadwater.
Take in the sights as you enjoy morning tea and sail over calm waters past Southport, Runaway Bay, Ephraim Islands and Sovereign Islands. Listen to live guitar and hear commentary from the crew while you spot marine life and sea eagles. You'll cruise past luxury waterfront homes en route to the largely uninhabited island of South Stradbroke Island, known affectionately to Gold Coasters as "South Straddie."
When you arrive, explore the private beaches at the eco-resort of McLarens Landing while a chef prepares a delicious barbecue lunch, including steaks, fresh fish, salads and crusty rolls (vegetarian and gluten-free options available). If you want, buy a cocktail to go with your lunch in a beachside pavilion.
During your free time, explore your surroundings or take advantage of free activities at the resort. Discover South Stradbroke Island’s subtropical forest on foot, soak up the atmosphere of the Aussie bush at the golden swamp wallaby feeding session, or help yourself to darts and billiards.
Enjoy the complimentary use of kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, cricket and volleyball — all of which you have access to from a private beach. You can also go for a Jet Ski, speedboat or Segway ride at an extra cost.
After a spell as a blissful island castaway, you’ll return via the tall ship to Mariners Cove Marina.
