Enjoy your choice of accommodation at Hanericka Farmstay. The shared barn, a converted sheep-shearing shed, offers rustic sleeping quarters with an open-floor plan for up to 20 guests (includes bathroom). Alternatively, stay in the farmhouse in a shared accommodation with bathroom (maximum four people per room). Or opt for a private room and bathroom with double or twin-share accommodation (minimum of two people per booking required).

Note: This tour departs Melbourne to Sydney, but you can do the tour in reverse order from Sydney to Melbourne.

Day 1: Melbourne — Mansfield — Beechworth — Yerong Creek (D)

Depart Melbourne after hotel pickup, and journey through the ever-changing landscape of Victoria’s High Country, bound by the Victorian Alps, the Murray River and the great Australian bushland. Admire the scenic landscape of Kinglake National Park before arriving in Mansfield, located in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range.

Hear from your guide about Australia’s former bushrangers (outlaws) and learn the story of the famous Ned Kelly as you’re driven to Powers Lookout for postcard-worthy views.

Continue on to Beechworth, a historic gold-mining town with magnificently preserved heritage buildings and mouthwatering gourmet produce. Take a free tour of Beechworth Honey, or taste craft beer at Bridge Road Brewers where you can find lunch (own expense).

The tour highlight is experiencing life on an authentic, working farm in Yerong Creek. Spend the afternoon learning about operational aspects of an Aussie farm, including close contact with both native wildlife and farm animals. You’ll have the opportunity to take a tractor tour or go horseback riding (additional expense) and exchange stories with the host family during dinner.

Overnight: Barn or farmhouse accommodation at Hanericka Farmstay in Yerong Creek

Day 2: Yerong Creek — Canberra — Sydney (B)

After breakfast, continue your journey through the Australian bush to the nation’s capital. Enjoy the views at the Murrumbidgee River and make a refreshment stop at Gundagai before arriving in Canberra.

Learn about Canberra's history during a tour of Parliament House. Then check out national treasures in the National Museum of Australia or the National Gallery of Australia (Melbourne to Sydney tour only). Take a moment to reflect at the Australian War Memorial before departing Canberra for the drive to Sydney, with drop-off at your hotel.
