We had a terrific time from the minute we arrived at Proserpine Airport. Our driver was helpful and gave us an interesting account of the locality and sugar industry. the apartment at Marina Shores was high quality and in an excellent location, fabulous views over the sea all day and evening, great pool and gardens, pleasant walk to local marina and restaurants and further on to Airlie Beach township. Easy walk for us to town in early 70's and catch a cheap taxi back if loaded up with food shopping. Weather was superb, even hot for Melburnians, the whole week...we ' lucked out' . Had a lovely trip by ferry to Hamilton island for some exploration, lying around poolside, taking in the sights via the free shuttle. Of course, more exciting boat trips and activities around the WhitSunday islands are available for younger people but we've been there, done that decades ago. We would recommend a week in Airlie Beach in July or August to escape the Victorian winter. Better than we ever expected - warm, friendly, plenty to do. Saw little evidence of the great storm, recovery of plants amazing.

Very well organised, they waited for us in the airport terminal, it was lovely that there was commentary in the bus about the places we were passing and they stopped right in front of our accommodation.
