Day 1: Auckland
You’ll be met in Auckland by your friendly private guide to begin your 5-day adventure. Start with an Auckland city tour, with sights including Mission Bay, where you can see beautiful pohutukawa trees, and the famous Auckland Harbour Bridge, where you'll see the exclusive Ponsonby Yacht Club.

You’ll also enjoy views of Mt Eden, one of Auckland’s most famous volcanic craters. After your tour, you’ll have time to stroll along the waterfront and enjoy a seafood dinner (own expense).

Day 2: Auckland -- Paihia (B)
After breakfast at your hotel, hop in your private, luxury vehicle and relax on a 4-hour drive to Paihia, the gateway to the Bay of Islands. As you cross the Harbour Bridge, say goodbye to New Zealand’s largest city and be greeted by what’s known as ‘The Winterless North,’ the remote Northland region that’s famous for its gigantic kauri trees, rich Maori culture, breathtaking coastal vistas and rolling farmlands that are bright and vivid throughout the year.

Along the way, visit the Kauri Museum to learn all about New Zealand’s most ancient tree and how its significance has developed over time. You’ll then visit Whangarei, the capital of the Northland region, where you’ll enjoy views of stunning Whangarei Falls, argued as the most photographed waterfall in New Zealand due to its ease of access, picturesque bush surroundings and guaranteed year-round flowing cascade.

From here, continue north to Paihia, the hotspot of the Bay of Islands, where you’ll spend the next two days.

Day 3: Paihia (B)
Your third day is yours to spend as you please. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then choose from a variety of activities; ask your guide for any recommendations on what to do and see depending on your interests. Private transport is available to you during your free time.

Take a day trip to Cape Reinga, the northwesternmost point in New Zealand, or step back in time and feel like a real pioneer as you cruise on Northland’s iconic tall ship, R Tucker Thompson. For sports enthusiasts, go fishing or enjoy a round of golf. If you want to relax and take in the gorgeous surroundings, simply laze on the beach, swim or snorkel (optional activities at additional cost).

Day 4: Paihia -- Auckland (B)
After breakfast in the morning, your guide will take you to one of New Zealand’s most famous sites, the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. Overlooking the Bay of Islands, this was the site where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840, which united the Maori people and the British Crown.

On a tour of this 1,250-acre (506-hectare) estate, full of gardens, bush tracks and beaches, hear interesting stories about the momentous events that shaped New Zealand’s history and see one of the world’s largest carved war canoes.

Afterward, venture into Waipoua Forest, boasting one of New Zealand’s most impressive kauri forests. You’ll also discover Tane Mahuta, a giant 2,000-year-old kauri tree that is believed to be the largest in the world!

Continue driving south down the west coast to Auckland. You’ll arrive in the early evening.

Day 5: Auckland (B)
Your tour will conclude on your fifth day. Reminisce on your amazing experience over breakfast and then continue touring Auckland on your own or be driven by private vehicle to the Auckland airport or train station.
