Beautiful scenic drive with occasional stops for better views. Memorial at Christchurch was very moving. Would do this trip again.

Scotty was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about Christchurch, Dunedin and New Zealand in general. The tour of Christchurch was very worthwhile. It would have been better to have more time in the Museum rather than the drive around the Harbour. The last stop ( for "ice cream") is unnecessary.

A wonderful experience with Scotty showing us around and giving a very thorough explanation of any query we might have. He was extremely helpful and went out of his way to make sure that we saw everything. His throat would have been sore by the time he finished. He loved the area and passed this love on to us. Great trip!

Excellent coordination between excursion supplier and cruise ship docking instructions to meet up with excursion driver and shuttle bus clear and easy to follow. Arriving early allowed us to easily do some shopping at conveniently located stores near the meeting point. Shopping area a joy to walk through and you could supplement breakfast off the ship with visits to the local bakery and gourmet coffee shops. Friendly locals, dogs, and shop keepers. Excursion was led by knowledgeable driver/guide, who was a long time resident and former local school teacher. Extensive knowledge of local geology, history, and customs. Christchurch suffered severe damage from most recent earthquake but seems to be on the mend. Local architecture being evaluated and many of the old Victorian buildings will be restored. However, city center is will be forever changed as some old building are too damaged to restore or rebuild: glass and steel to be the replacements. City Center will be zoned for mixed us: residential commercial parks and open space. Should be great in a couple of years. Countryside stops amazing: sheep green hills. Side Stop to the beach facing the Pacific offered ample opportunity to view bird life. Lunch spot was well advertised and coordinated best value was going to the local supermarket and buying lunch from their deli.

Through all these tours of the towns of New Zealand, we got soo much information via the expert guides, we felt empowered !! Enjoyed the countryside !!

Wow. The scenery from Akaroa to Christchurch was breathtaking and our bus driver/tour guide did a masterful job navigating the hairpin turns over the mountains to the city. Because of earthquake damage, the usual port closer to Christchurch is closed and so we docked in Akaroa, at least an hour away, but a lovely town with a surprising French influence. Christchurch is still recovering from the devastation caused by the earthquake, but the rebuilding is impressive and the city has a great history museum beside the botanical garden where we stopped.

I thought I had booked the excursion that included sheep shearing - so was really disappointed. The driver did try to hook us upwith thtat tour but they said they weren't shearing since the sheep were wet. when I told the shore excursion desk that they said their tour did see sheep shearing The hard part was it was rainy, the bus was fogged so could see little.

Very good tour around Christchurch .Saw much of the earthquake damage from 7 years ago .Plus how the city is on the mend and how important us tourists are to them .Excellent tour guide Bruce I Think was his name .Knew the city so well and added many interesting points to the trip

Arrived at Akaroa late as ship tender was put on hold for about half an hour due to rough seas meaning that the bus tour had departed by the time we arrived on shore. BUT the local company Canterbury Leisure Tours had arranged a small mini van to wait and transport our group to Christchurch where we joined the main coach. Enjoyable day, informative drivers, beautiful scenery and would highly recommend this tour and company.
