After pickup from your Dunedin hotel or the cruise port, travel by comfortable minivan to one of the most beautiful and remote areas of the Otago Peninsula. Arrive at the coast where you follow your guide on a leisurely 2.5-mile (4 kilometer) hike along a coastal track. Take in a landscape of windswept trees growing on a rugged coast dotted with rock formations such as the Chasm, a tall basalt column, and a natural rock bridge best viewed from the Lovers Leap lookout point. The track continues through native bush then down a 650-foot (200 meter) sand dune, the largest in the Otago region, to arrive at the beach.
