Doubtful Sound Wilderness Cruise (Day 1)
After pickup from your Queenstown hotel, travel to Lake Manapouri where your adventure begins with a cruise along the crystal-clear waters, followed by a trip across New Zealand’s most expensive road -- Wilmot Pass. Along the way, stop to enjoy the alpine landscapes and Doubtful Sound far below.
On arrival to Doubtful Sound, board a spacious catamaran for a 3-hour wilderness cruise. Take in dramatic views of dense rainforests, rugged peaks, cascading waterfalls and serene waters, while your experienced nature guide offers commentary about the sights you see.
Doubtful Sound is an unspoiled natural wonder with ever-changing moods  from clear, blue sun-drenched skies one moment to mysterious and mist-shrouded the next. While cruising the waters keep a look out for bottlenose dolphins, rare penguins and fur seals basking on the rocks. After your wilderness cruise, you'll be taken back to your Queenstown hotel.
Walter Peak High Country Farm Tour and Cruise (Day 2)
Today, meet at Steamer Wharf in Queenstown to begin your rural New Zealand experience. You'll travel to Walter Peak in a unique way -- aboard a vintage steamship, where you can watch the original TSS Earnslaw steam engines at work from an open viewing area.
During the cruise, you’ll be entertained by a pianist playing a variety of old favorites, so join in and sing along! You can also visit the Focsle Museum to learn about the history of the TSS Earnslaw.
Upon arrival at Walter Peak High Country Farm, head to the Colonel's Homestead for tea or coffee and scrumptious homemade baked goods. You'll have time to take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful lakeside gardens, before joining your guide on a walking tour of the farm. You'll learn about traditional farming practices and the importance of the different farm animals. Watch sheep dogs in action, see farmers shearing sheep, and wool spinners at work.
After getting an authentic glimpse at rural farm life, you'll return to Steamer Wharf in Queenstown.
