Discover the best of Rotorua geothermal activity at your first stop, Te Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve; see bubbling mud pools and steaming geysers and marvel at the natural geography of the area.
You'll then have the opportunity to learn about M?ori culture in New Zealand at the M?ori Arts and Crafts Institute. Enjoy a guided tour and find out about the traditional arts of the M?ori people including wood carving and weaving demonstrations.
Next, head to the Agrodome for a unique New Zealand farm experience; gain an insight into New Zealand's farming history before heading to Rainbow Springs which offers a unique showcase of New Zealand's flora and fauna. Keep your eyes peeled for New Zealand's national icon, the kiwi bird!

Rotorua Skyline Gondola Ride
Combine your tour with a Skyline Gondola ride and soar high above the city (487 metres above to be exact!). The 900 meter long cableway has comfortable 8-seater cabins and offers breathtaking views over Lake Rotorua and the unique geothermal landscape of the city.
Hobbiton Movie Set
Built on a working New Zealand sheep farm just outside the rural town of Matamata, the Hobbiton Movie Set is one of the last remaining structures from the Lord of the Rings films. Experience movie magic as you see where Bilbo Baggins lived and the quest for the ring began, with opportunities to have your photo taken in front of a hobbit-hole or by the pond, this is one of the best day trips in New Zealand for Lord of the Rings fans!

I enjoyed this tour but felt a bit rushed at some points. I had little interest in the sheep show and would have liked to experience a bit more of the scenery instead.

The geyser performed dramatically on cue and the porridge pot was amazing. The Agredome must not be missed.

This was a great tour. The people were knowledgable and very helpfull. As expected we saw a lot and were on and off the bus. the ability to return for a second look on the same pass was good. Definatly a great way to see everything.

The actual tour was really good, as solid 4 star. The only problem was that the local tour operator had run out of spaces and had emailed Viator to inform me of this problem. Viator completely failed to inform me of this, so I spent a good hour sorting out the tour for the next morning. Not happy having to get up at 6 two days in a row. Otherwise, a great way to get a bearing of Rotorua. Definitely recommend before proceeding with activities in Rotorua - informs you of good or not so good activities to do while there.
