Enjoy a grade 3+ whitewater rafting adventure that combines the heart-pumping action of more than 60 roller coaster rapids (with an expert guide at the helm) and plenty of spectacular, unspoilt wilderness which can only be accessed from the river. Challenge your limits by daring to do the cliff jump and take in the commentary from the knowledgeable and professional guides. Choose from the following adventure activities to add to your white water rafting experience

Option 1: Throw yourself from the highest water touch bungy platform in NZ. From 47metres high, above the Waikato River, you choose to stay dry or immerse yourself in the crystal clear waters below  from your fingertips to your ankles. Set in a spectacularly scenic location, this is a ‘must-do’ activity whilst visiting the Taupo region. Pick up and drop off from your Taupo accommodation is included.

Option 2: Come and enjoy The Tree Trunk Gorge track by mountain bike - a beautiful track that weaves its way through native forest, with a short steep climb, a picturesque river ford and some wooden bridges en route. Once out of the bush you will bike down to the Poutu Intake on the Tongariro River and enjoy lunch before your rafting experience. Bikes and helmuts supplied and fully guided.

Option 3: Enjoy an exciting and scenic 20 minute flight in a floatplane to the southern end of Lake Taupo, taking in the awe inspiring scenery of the great lake (yes, it really is that big) and the central plateau, catching glimpses of the mighty mountains of Tongariro National Park before embarking on your white water rafting adventure.

Option 4: The Ultimate Adrenalin rush  skydiving and white water rafting in the stunning Lake Taupo region. Two of Lake Taupo’s iconic activities have come together to offer you an incredible day out. Experience 45 mind-blowing seconds of freefall and take in the awesome views of Lake Taupo and out to the coast at speeds of up to 200km/hr! Skydiving in Taupo is world famous so it’s certainly on the must do list!
