Both cities are lovely. Lucca was my favorite because it was so much more laid back and chill there, while Pisa is full of hordes of tourists. Our guide was friendly and did a good job. I would recommend a different place for the wine tasting / lunch though. The food took so long that I was almost late meeting the group. As well, they poured three wines, but without any information about the wines. Otherwise, this was an enjoyable day trip.

My second tour with the same tour guide and again he provided excellent service. It drizzled in the morning but rained heavily for the rest of the day. He tried hard to find alternatives and some people opted to stay in the tourist center instead of walking around Lucca. I did not prepay to climb Pisa Tower, but he provided good instructions to get the ticket on my own. It's actually one of my most favorite tours through Viator, despite the strange weather.

Our trip was all we hoped for in terms of what we came to see, however, the impersonal attitude of our guide who droned on as if he were bored was less than stimulating. It was difficut to follow him since his blue hat blended in with the crowed. His I give a care demeanor diminished the wonderful sights we came to learn and see. I would recommend the experience to others, but with a different guide.

This tour was great! We enjoyed seeing Pisa and having free time to explore on our own. Our guide, Jenny, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our group was small- less than 20 people- and it was a great day!

Beware of the wine tasting portion. She took us to a restaurant that served us a couple very small portions of wine, very poor service and the waiter had did not seem to want to be there. If you are going to take us to such a con, at least insist on good service and decent food.

This was awesome! Lucca and Pisa were incredible and our tour guide WAS AMAZING! She even walked my boyfriend and I to the area where we can purchase our tickets to climb the Leaning Tower, she wanted to make sure we would get to do it. The whole tour was awesome and we learned so much! Loved it! Definitely recommend the Leaning Tower climb...you have to do it and feel the tilt of the building as you go up the stairs! :

Great tour

Lucca and Pisa are great towns, however, the guide who took us on this trip was not good at all. She left people behind as they got off the bus and did not count or try to keep up with people. The guide in Pisa had her back to us most of the time and the headsets did not work when her back was to you so you got no information out of her at all. The bus driver on the way back was hitting his brakes so hard at one point we all thought he hit the car in front. I would not recommend this company for the tour. There are a lot of tour groups out there to these places so I would pick another.

Picked up at our hotel in the am, which was a bit of a surprise as we were told to meet at the train station and off we went to Pisa! A blustery cold day but rather tourist free. We climbed the tower, actually had it to ourselves, watch the marble steps they can be slippery, went to the Cathedral and Baptistry. At the Baptistry one of the guards closed the doors called for silence then walked to the center and sang a number of notes that resonated off the dome, an amazing sound. I thought the Camposanto was the most impressive with the tombs and Roman relics. After wandering around on our own the guide met our group and took us on a brief tour and explained the local history. We then marched off with our driver to a local place for a wine tasting and an opportunity to buy lunch. The wines were surprisingly good with the lunch being so-so. If I could change anything I would pick a nicer destination for a lunch stop. Our next stop was Lucca and we were dropped off an wandered around for a while, saw the local Cathedrals, some were closed because of time of year, went to the Puccini Museum which was entertaining and wandered the streets and window shopped. I should have researched Lucca a bit more and had more of an agenda, this stop was unguided and we were given maps to wander around with. A good day trip, but a guide in Lucca would have helpful.

The drive on the bus from Florence was leisurely, and our tour guide was personable and knowledgeable, Although it was a rainy and cold day, we had a great time seeing, it seems like, the entire town of Pisa. We had lots of time to thoroughly see the cathedral, baptistry and tower. Lucca was even lovelier. Such a quaint and beautiful town to wander around and take pictures of. Lucca is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Great full-day tour!
