Encore merci ? note guide.

The tour was ruined simply by the guide. She took what could have been a fascinating look at the corridor, how it was used and the Medici family and turned it into the most boring event I have ever attended. She refused to use her microphone correctly, holding it rather than attaching it to her dress. This caused her to be muffled and static sounding, half of the group removed their headsets through the tour because it was pointless to wear them. She focused not on the history of the corridor in Florence but instead took deep looks at the extremely mediocre art collection hanging in the corridor. She was also extremely rude. She refused to turn her iPad when showing pictures for the group. People asked her if she could turn it and she said no we all had to stand on one side of the corridor. Keep in mind we were the only group int he corridor and it is narrow, we could not all stand on one side, it would have been ridiculous. I explained this to her in front of the group and showed her how incredibly easy it would be for her to just move the iPad in an arc so that everyone could have a short look. She was visible angry by this, but at this point she was so annoying no one cared. Our group of six eventually moved ahead and created our own stories about the paintings because this woman and her muffled explanations were insufferable. I have never meet a more boring Italian person in my life!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed walking along the Vasari Corridor in the footsteps of the Medici. That was the best part of the tour.
The tour itself was not very good. We mostly stopped and looked a paintings every now and listened to the guide who knew what he was talking about but was a bit boring. I wish that there had been more stories/history/legends about the Medici family and about Vasari. I think that would make it a better tour.

We learned a lot during the Vasari Corridor Tour and the Boboli Gardens was beautiful to walk through. Thanks for a great tour!

The Vasari Corridor was interesting, but it's difficult to take in, in the alotted time. The artwork is lovely, and is surprisingly composed of a lot of self-portraits of the artists. The guide was kind and explained much about the various styles employed, periods and motivations in a historical context. However, she made two things difficult - she didn't understand how a microphone worked, so she held it to her mouth instead of pinning it to her blouse. This made it very hard to understand her speaking and after a couple of people tried to help, she got irritated and we gave up. The second thing was that the guide was trying to be helpful and told us that we shouldn't visit the Gardens st 2:30 when the tour of the corridor ended, but at 8:30pm when it had cooled off. Good intentions, but the gardens closed at 7:30pm...

This is a fantastic tour and great way to learn more in depth about the Medici's. You have a real feeling of being behind the scenes and walking where others have walked over the centuries!
