Start your tour with a breathtaking view of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo. Here you will have the most spectacular viewpoint of Florence and the entire region.
The hike starts out with a short walk down to the Roses Garden. Romantic and unique in its genre, this garden has offered a thousand different botanical varieties and a little Japanese garden since 1865.
From here, move up the hill to San Miniato Abbey. The Abbey is considered one of the most beautiful Romanesque church in Italy, and it is situated at the highest point of Florence. San Miniato dates back to 783.
Moving forward, cross the Rimembranze Park, and listen to the legends that make this park so extraordinary.
Cross the ancient Borgo of Pian dei Giullari and Villa il Gioiello, where Galileo Galilei died after the well known trial, and reach Villa le Piazzole. In this gorgeous, private renaissance villa, stop and relax before ducking into the ancient wine cellar to start your wine and olive oil tasting accompanied by a light Tuscan snack of local products.
All products are produced on the premises, and being such a small family production, they are only sold locally.
Our return leg back down hill to Florence will take us to the stunning Medici’s neoclassical Villa of Poggio Imperiale, recently included by UNESCO among the World Human Heritage.
Walking all the way through Via di San Leonardo, neighbourhood of Florentine nobility and scenery of famous painters, pass in front of Tchaikovsky residence: here the Russian composer realized a few of his best masterpieces.
The last part of the walk bring you to the magnificent Forte Belvedere. This unique fortress is located on the highest hill of the Boboli Gardens, with stunning overlook over the entire city of Florence.
In Forte Belvedere enjoy a moment of rest in a nice bar surrounded by fabulous pieces of Contemporary Art and end your tour saying goodbye to your guide.
