Meet your guide at Piazza della Signoria and, as an introduction to your tour, learn how Florence became the center of Renaissance art under the patronage of its ruling Medici family in the Middle Ages. If your group has more than six participants, you'll be provided with a headset to ensure you hear your guide clearly at all times.

Walk to the Uffizi Gallery and, with your priority-entrance ticket, bypass the main queues to see its top-floor art collection. Behold some of the world’s greatest artworks including The Birth of Venus by Botticelli and Leonardo da Vinci’s Annunciation as your guide reveals how and why they were painted.

Enjoy refreshments (own expense) at the Uffizi’s panoramic terrace, and then follow your guide through a door in the Uffizi into the exclusive Vasari Corridor. Rarely open to the general public, this elevated corridor crosses the Ponte Vecchio bridge and allowed the Medicis to walk to their residence, the Pitti Palace, unseen by their subjects.

Admire the Vasari's vast collection of portraits, and catch fascinating glimpses of the city and Arno River from this semi-secret walkway. Leave through the exit in the Boboli Gardens, and stop to see the 16th-century Buontalenti Grotto, a sanctuary that features in Dan Brown’s book, Inferno.

After free time for lunch (own expense), restart your tour at the Piazza della Signoria. Here, see the replica of Michelangelo’s David and learn how the original stood here from 1504 until 1873.

Admire the other statues in the square, and then bypass the main lines into the Accademia Gallery, to view the original David. Ogle this majestic Carrara marble statue and afterward, view Michelangelo's unfinished The Prisoners and St Matthew sculptures, as well as a selection of other masterpieces, including the famous wedding scene frontal, Cassone Adimari.

Your tour ends when your guide says goodbye inside the Accademia, leaving you free to continue exploring the gallery or Florence on your own.

Highly recommend this tour. Florence Pass tour guides were so knowledgable. Maurice took the time to pint out many interesting sites on our walk to academia, which I considered a bonus!

The gallery tour was way too short. Speed museum. Half a dozen highlights and then on to the corridor. Accademia tour was very informative.

Terrific docent inch. The trip in very hot weather is difficult due to extreme heat in the Vasari Corridor. otherwise, it is a great experience

3 Stars. Higher marks for the morning due to the guide we had. The Vasari Corridor was not a highlight.
The 3 hour break was too long.
The afternoon guide was less enjoyable and the audio equipment was spotty and sometimes just bad, at least for me. Others also switched out their headphone, but that did not fix my problem.

A fantastic tour of history and art through the ages. What a contrast from the crowds and noise of the Uffizi galley to the silence of the Vasari corridor. A helpful tip though- the Vasari corridor is not climate controlled and can get very hot. Also, the Vasari corridor has many sensitive paintings- that can not be touched. DO not bring children on this tour. It will only get you in major trouble. For adults, this is a not to be missed glimpse into the past. Fascinating also to hear of the corridors role in WWII. The Academia Gallery is worth it for the walk through Florence as you follow the path of David when it was moved in 1575. They moved it 50cm at a time! On the walk you will see works by Donatello among other things. Just be alert and don't get so wrapped up in the tales of the guide that you get in the path of traffic. Note: there is a lot of ground to cover and its a fairly brisk pace. Again, maybe not the best tour for small children but awesome for adults who can appreciate what is told.

This was a great tour. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable. She had studied the art and artists of both museums extensively and could read the original historical documents in Latin of the15th. Century.

Florence is a beautiful city and this tour was an excellent way to experience the art. We were lucky enough to have only 3 groups 5 people in total with us for the Uffizi Gallery tour, and Roberta the guide was excellent and very interesting. The Vasari corridor tour was interesting, but really only if you like portraiture so I became a little bored with the artworks after a while. It was still fun walking through the top of the Ponte Vecchio and looking down on the crowds. The afternoon tour had only one other person with us, so it was great, and the guide was clearly passionate about Michelangelo. David was probably the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and definitely worth seeing more than once. Overall we were really glad we booked this tour

The tour was in three parts which allowed for coffee and lunch breaks. Three guides, each good and with their own style. Each part of the tour was well-structured so that information was built on to give us an understanding of particular concepts. Standing for longish periods on one spot was tiring.
