After the reviews I was nervous about this tour but it was great. The tour guide met you opposite Florence station easy to find had all your vouchers explained it all. Tacked onto day cinque Terre tour and then went your own way after collecting suitcase at station which stayed on the bus. Platform easy to find hotel easy they give you directions and hotel in st. Margarita a lovely little seaside town was perfect. Recommend the portofino
Ferry which they give you a voucher for, this is truly a beautiful part of Italy. Back the next day by train simple again.
We were nervous about meeting our Guide and made a couple of calls to emergency number. They assured us they would be their with a sign and the guide was. Then back to Florence by bus. It was a fabulous 2 nights highly recommended.

This Tour is excellent, however, in the description of the guided tour it is not stated that the tour guide ends at approx. 4pm on day one1 of the 3 day .2 night tour.
The person or couple are then own their own , without guide, to catch the correct train From La Spezia to Santa Margherita, transport from Santa Margherita station to their Hotel and check in.
There is also no guide provided to catch the ferry to Portofino the next day.
The following day requires transport back to Santa Margherita station to catch the correct regional train back to La Spezia
All of the are above are included with pre paid vouchers to be produced , except transport to and from hotel Taxi
Be aware, this is NOT a 3 day guided tour !
It should be noted that the included Hotel at Santa Margherita was excellent and better than expected
The period that is most vulnerable and non defined is the meet-up on day 3 with another tour , outside La Spezia rail station to join that tour for the bus trip back to Florence.
If the regional train is delayed as mine was for 1 hour on route will the meet up tour have left already,? Who is the meet up tour guide? In this locale there are many tour guides and busses
I phoned the emergency number provided to establish if the meet up tour was still in La Spezia, and got a tour guide identification
purple umbrella and name and waited on my phone while head office phoned the guide to establish her exact position.
Without doing this it would be near impossible to meet up with the day 3 guide and then have to face the prospect of finding and paying for my own trip back to Florence.
A great itinerary , apart from these communication gap that needs improving.

Great tour! It is basically a day tour that you don't return to flown e on, but make your own way to Santa margarita on the train - which can be a little intimidating at first to find out what train, platform etc as no one speaks much English! Once arrived, you are also on your own, but worth it!!
