After hotel pickup in central Rome, your tour begins at the Colosseum, where you'll skip the entrance line.
Receive a headset so you can hear the commentary from your guide, who shares plenty of information about Ancient Rome as you journey through its past. While you explore the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater built by the Romans, try to imagine the scene of screaming spectators and gladiators in battle down on the arena floor.
Next, head to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, one of the Seven Hills of Rome, once the foundation of the city and location of emperors' homes. Hear more about the history of the Eternal City while walking along the original path of Rome, Via Sacra, the main road that citizens used to access the Roman Forum and its buildings, which were the center of government and public life.
Your tour ends at Via dei Fori Imperiali, not far from the Colosseum metro stop and Piazza Venezia.
Due to shorter daylight, from October 28 the visit to the Palatine Hill will be replaced with an external explanation from the Capitoline Hill

This was a larger group tour, but the addition of a receiver and ear phones made it easier to keep up with all the info. Our guide was not the greatest at imparting all the historic knowledge so we did get bored and drift off at times. The view of the Roman forum from above is incredible, but our ground floor guide-only access to colosseum stole the show. All in all, worth the money and I would recommend.

The meeting place is very inconvenient if you dont stay in the middle of Rome. We went right by the colosseum and 12 hour walk beyond just to be put on a bus to go back. Why dont they just meet outside the entrance? Would be a huge improvement

Our tour guide Mateo who studies antiquity, demonstrated his knowledge and gave insight throughout this tour. Skip the line is very helpful and we would recommend for seeing the Colosseum. It is amazing to walk the same stairs touch he same stone as people from over 2000 years ago. Our guide was most helpful for the Palatine HIll and Roman Forum part of the tour. Without a guide it is difficult to understand and appreciate the significance of what you are seeing and how it ties into the history of Rome. We would highly recommend this tour.

We had an excellent day out on this tour of the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill. Our guide was excellent, could not have been better! He is also an archaeologist, and was truly passionate and informative about everything on the tour.

Great tour and great info. Loved being able to skip to front of line. A little planning ahead and booking a front of the line tour makes the day of sightseeing so much more pleasant. Loved the info, the tour and the guide.

Many things were poorly executed . Our hotel pickup was late, he left us double parked for at least 5 minutes, ostensibly to pick up more people that never materialized. Once at the venue, we waited at least another 10 minutes for missing participants. The guide was disorganized , and not very familiar with the subject. Some facts she stated were actually inaccurate. In addition, the group included a nice couple that had one child in a stroller, which caused a delay at each ascent/ descent because of long waits for the lift. Tour should not be recommended for strollers. We did not finish the tour!!
