The tour starts with the Pinacoteca (Vatican Art Gallery) which consists in a collection of about 500 paintings and contains some famous masterpieces of great artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian and Caravaggio. It continues with the rest of the Museums which are among the greatest museums in the world, displaying one of the world’s most important art collections that thePopes of Rome have built and enriched over five centuries, including some of the most renowned classical sculptures and most important masterpieces of Renaissance art in the world. During this unforgettable tour is possible to perceive the weight of the great history and at the same time the sense of the sacred. Our guide will show you unique works of art of the greatest artists of all times such as Raphael in the “Rooms”, Giotto, and finally Michelangelo in theSistine Chapel.
After the Museums the visit continues to Saint Peter’s Square with the Colonnade made by Bernini and then onto the the Basilica, the most important place of Catholicism, built over the centuries by famous architects such as Michelangelo himself, with its famous Dome which is one of the symbols of Rome. Once inside the greatest church in the world you will admire unique masterpieces from different artists and eras, such as the famous “Pieta” of Michelangelo and then again works of Bernini and Canova.
Please note that on Wednesday morning tours, due to the Papal Audience, St. Peter’s Basilica could be closed. Customers who wish to see the Basilica should book in the afternoon or on another day.
