**Starting June 1st**
As of June 1st all participants are required to bring a valid form of ID to enter the restricted areas of the Colosseum (passport, drivers license or government ID)
Meet your professional guide at the Colosseum Metro Station in central Rome, and then head to the colossal creation itself. Once known as the Flavian Ampitheatre, the Colosseum embodies the true eminence of Ancient Rome. Built to host the gladiator battles that are synonymous with this period in history, it seated over 50,000 spectators and is undoubtedly the Roman Empire’s greatest architectural feat.
With your priority entrance ticket, skip the long lines and head directly inside. Then, follow your guide into the belly of the Colosseum to explore the fascinating underground level, which is only open to a limited amount of people each day. Stroll through the labyrinthine network of subterranean passages and chambers, and listen as your guide shares gory tales of the gladiators who prepared for battle here, and the fearsome animals that were held under the arena in cells.
Then, head up a level to the arena. Instead of walking around the edge as most visitors do, walk with your guide right into the space where the battles were fought. Tread carefully across the patches of original flooring, and peer down the gaps at the level below.
After exploring the Colosseum, enjoy a short break, then enjoy a leisurely walk up Palatine Hill, one of the Seven Hills of Rome. As you stroll amid the aromatic pine trees, listen to your guide talk about the origins of Rome, and see where the rich Romans once lived.
Then, descend into the valley of the Roman Forum. With your guide leading the way, weave through the cluster of ruins that once formed the heart of ancient Rome, and learn about the area’s highlights, such as the Arch of Titus and the Senate.
Your tour then concludes in the Roman Forum where you will have the possibility to wander around more if you wish.

ABOUT OUR 6 PEOPLE SMALL GROUP POLICY
When you book a small group tour, you are guaranteed one tour guide per group of 6 people. Please bear in mind though that in order to accommodate traveling families and friends, we do on rare occasion make the exception of adding an additional one to two guests in order not to split groups who are traveling together. On that same note, you may find yourself on tour with less than six people. As we accept bookings in multiples of six, math doesn’t always work in our favor to help accommodate individual travelers and their families when on the same tour, so we hope you understand and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Due to extreme weather conditions, the Colosseum Administration may limit access to some or all of the restricted areas (Colosseum, Arena Level and Third Tier), to ensure security of its visitors. No refund will be granted on these rare occasions

UNDERGROUND AND ARENA: The access to the restricted areas of the Colosseum (Underground and Arena) may be shared among other participants in the LivItaly exclusive entry slot. At times, for safety reasons, logistics and traffic control, the group may be led by one guide. This choice is at the complete discretion of the Colosseum's administration and security policy of that day in accordance to adequate safety measures. Please be aware that this is only for 30/40 minutes of the total duration of the tour. Our max 6 people policy is guaranteed for the remainder of the duration of the tour.

GENERAL ENTRY:Please note that for safety reasons the Colosseum can accommodate up to 3000 people at once. This could lead to delays in access to the site, even for pre-booked visitors. Please be on time!

Excellent tour with a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. Quite a bit of walking, but saw an amazing amount of history in a single afternoon tour. Highly recommend this tour.

What we saw was good but.......
The meeting point was by the metro station. We arrived as instructed in good time for a 13:30 start. As there were so many groups being organised we didn't start on time. Our guide, who was very knowledgeable and had a good command of English, told us that as our slot for the Colosseum Underground and Arena wasn't until 15:45 that we would start by going to the Roman Forum - so off we headed. After queuing for around 40 minutes we entered the Roman Forum but immediately headed towards the Palatine Hill and only looked down on the Forum. We were disappointed not to have been able to walk around the Forum but this was probably because entry took so long. We had around an hour looking around the Palatine Hill and down to the Forum and down to the Circus Maximus. At 15:20 we left the Palatine Hill and were taken to the Colosseum to await our entry slot to the Colosseum. For this part of the tour the booking instructions indicated that the entry to the Colosseum may be shared with other participants for the Livitaly slot. We did not expect that the group would become over 40 people. The guide for this had a poor command of English and just kept saying "just imagine"! There were two young children in the group and the guide only seemed interested in them. Our entry time got delayed and we eventually entered some 40 minutes after our entry slot and around an hour after leaving the Palatine Hill. We had less than 10 minutes in the Arena and less than 10 minutes underground - fifteen minutes in total - significantly less than the 30-40 minutes indicated on the booking confirmation. No apology for the waiting around. The tour finished slightly late. We were told that we could spend as long as we wanted looking round the Colosseum, but as it closed at 17:30 there was insufficient time to do everything we wanted. The confirmation of the tour stated that as well as entry to Palatine Hill (which happened); the Roman Forum (could only look at this and not explore); the Colosseum (15 minutes of the tour) that there was entry to the Foro diAugusto. We never went anywhere near this. When we asked our guide we were fobbed off. Livitaly Tours who provided the tour need to up their game significantly.

This tour was fantastic. The Colosseum is unbelievable and underground area was beyond what we expected. Fabiana was our guide and it was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with her. She is extremely knowledgeable of the Colosseum and Roman history and easily shared this with us. We had all of our questions answered and she continually asked if anything was unclear or if there were areas we wanted to explore further. Our tour ran long, and after making sure no one had other commitments, she happily continued. It’s clear that Fabiana loves what she does and as a result our group of 1st time visitors to Rome had a great time.

Visiting the Colosseum and Forum is arguably the top attraction in Rome so I wanted to really make it count! And this tour surpassed my expectations. Our group was only six people, and we really were the very first people into the Colosseum in the morning! Our guide, Davide, was a native Roman and was so knowledgeable about each of the three destinations, pointing out things you wouldn't find in the guide books. He answered all of our questions and really cared about giving us a personalized tour. Sure, there are many options but I highly recommend visiting these remarkable sites with LivItaly! It was really worth it!

Palatine Hill, Forum, an the underground of the colosseum... top of colosseum we departed from guide and were able to tour museum and artifacts on our own before exiting. Underground only possible through group tours. There was a time change 2 weeks before the tour and Viator was promp, professional in making sure the change was ok and that we received our updated itinerary.

If you are going to the Colosseum and Forum, this is the Tour! Our guide was absolutely wonderful. The 3 hours flew by with her many stories and facts. We skipped all of the lines and were brought to places not all tours go to. I can't say enough about Viatour. Truly a wonderful experience.

Taking a tour is an expensive option, but very worthwhile to maximize your time in the sites and not queuing outside.

Loved our guide- very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Small group of 6 was nice. Our guide was Irish, had lived in Rome six years and clearly knew and loved the city. We felt like we saw EVERYTHING and understood what things were. Would have liked to do earlier - I scheduled at 2- because gift shop closed at 4:45! So keep that in mind.
