With these words the English poet Samuel Rogers concluded his journey in the "Land of the Sirens". This is a documentary with modern rhythm, fast music that echoes the sound of Naples and touches all aspects of the life of Sorrento.
The film reviews Sorrento's history, from the historical roots in Greek mythology and Roman Empire to the Christian faith that pervades the people of Sorrento and still nowadays is reflected in churches, convents, Christmas and Easter services. It explains why Sorrento was an highlight moment of the Grand Tour, when writers, artists and poets (but also kings, nobles and businessmen), of the most important countries in the world chose this place as their holiday destination.
The film proceed up to the present, mentioning the craft of marquetry, laces and silk, the "gozzi" boats factories and the wine and excellent gastronomy (based on high quality ingredients).
