We enjoyed our tour but felt it was a bit rushed. There were several areas open to view that we did not see. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained things well.

As Herculaneum is smaller than Pompii you can see most of it on this tour. The guide was very good and it helped the set Pompeii in context. Recommend this tour first or instead of Pompeii.

Group was too large. Long milk run to pick up all the participants. Guide was hard to hear. Herculaneum was a wonderful site to viisit. I would take a private tour if I ever went again.

This was a fantastic tour, I would recommend it. the tour company were brilliant, they picked us up and dropped us off on time, the group was small which meant we could hear the guides easily and could get round more of the site.
We had a good guide on the bus, who gave us lots of information as we were travelling to the site. Once we arrived we were shown around the site by an archaeologist, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the site. There are toilet facilities at the site, both in the car park and at the visitors centre. Make sure you collect your map and guide book which are part of your ticket price. The site is smaller than Pompeii, but has been well preserved due to the volcanic mud, and you can still see mosaics, colourful murals, and second stories on the buildings. Don't forget your camera!

It would have been helpful to have been told that you need photo ID if you have children under 18 otherwise you pay for them .
Tour guide very informative

Great Trip! We were advised this was a good alternative to Pompeii so thought we would give it a go instead and we were very happy with our decision. The site is very interesting and very well preserved, we saw many fascinating sights and learnt a lot of very interesting facts. Our tour guide 'Vincenzo' was excellent. He was amusing, considerate finding shady spots to talk to us on a very hot day and he was very knowledgeable. He explained things very well and helped to build a picture of the past. Would give this tour 10/10 and recommend everyone to do it. We didn't do Pompeii so can't really compare but unless you are very keen on your archeology I cannot imagine this could be better. Hotel pick up, journey, coach, time etc were all perfect too. Well done Viator and Vincenzo.
