You will join the tour at an idyllic creek side spot, where the high quality equipment will be waiting, and you will meet your experienced SUP Guide. The groups are small with a maximum of 6 fellow explorers. We carry a dry bag on board for clients.
No previous experience is necessary, the trip is suitable for anyone who is water confident and reasonably fit (able to walk a couple of miles comfortably).
After getting to know you a little, your paddling experience and your interests, the Guide will give you a short on shore briefing covering:-
- Introduction to the Tour and what you can expect to see
- Explanation of the equipment
- Safety guidance
- How to Stand up Paddle Board
Within minutes you will be on the water finding your feet, remaining near the launch site until everyone has got the hang of standing, moving forward and turning. The Guides are skilled to adapt the pace of the Tour to individuals and the whole group.
After exploring the creek and mindful of the tide and wind conditions you will enter the main River Fal where you will see many boats, birds, beautiful cottages, sometimes large ships moored, King Harry Ferry and D-day Landing Launch sites. All in the back drop of the green and leafy riverbanks. Most of which can only be see from the water.
On returning to the Quay there is an opportunity for some fun games testing your new found SUP skills.
This spot has been chosen for its beauty and remoteness, you should bring any provisions with you such as a picnic. The nearest toilets are at the National Trusts’ Trelissick Gardens where there is a caf?, or refreshments are available from Halwyn Caf? exclusive of price of the Tour. You can extend your exploration by undertaking a self guided circular walk Roundwood Quay to Trelissick Gardens for free by downloading the map from the National Trust website. There is access to the estate for free by foot but access to the Gardens is charged.
