With East London being the creative and artistic centre of London means that art is a major part of this community. Artists from around the globe have come and painted the walls with great murals to spectacular writing to showcase there talent, creating the worlds greatest outdoor gallery. We will walk along the canals stopping at a hidden cafe and gallery for coffee and a snack. It's now time to explore the industrial graffitied area and perhaps you will have the opportunity to unleash the vandal in you...have you ever used spray paint?
Next is Broadway Market: stalls, shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes offering some of the best food and most original clothing in London all crammed into a little East End street between the Regent’s Canal and London Fields. Have you ever tried a Jellied Eel? We shall stop to have lunch with delicious bread, cakes and cheese and a lot more on offer. Take a few minutes to scour the clothes racks for vintage bargains and London fashion.
Shoreditch is an inner city district in the historic East End of London known as the creative and artistic hub of this city. The equivalent of New York's Brooklyn or for Australians, Melbourne. Shoreditch a fashionistas dream with cutting edge fashion, vintage boutiques, sample sales and for the ultra hipster Box Park with independent designers styling the fashion conscious. Being the creative and artistic centre of London art is a major part of this community. Artists from around the globe have come and painted the walls with great murals to spectacular writing to showcase there talent, creating the worlds greatest outdoor gallery.
We shall take you in to a special project organised through Nomadic Community Gardens and 1lovecommunity who transform derelict and empty spaces into urban gardens for use by the local community using portable veg beds, before they undergo re-development.
Now it's time to drink as we make our way to The Old Truman Brewery, East London's revolutionary arts and media quarter, is home to a hive of creative businesses as well as exclusively independent shops, galleries, markets, bars, restaurants and street food. For fifteen years the Old Truman Brewery has been regenerating its ten acres of vacant and derelict buildings into spectacular office, retail, leisure and event spaces. The finely tuned mix of business and leisure has created an environment unique in London, making the Old Truman Brewery a destination in its own right.
