Good tour - very knowledgable guide. If you are on a tight schedule would recommend this tour

Our guide David was so informative and helpful. He tried to accommodate everyone while giving us a fabulous and memorable tour. It was a long day. We boarded the bus at 8:30 am and returned to London at 7:30 pm but we had a lot to cover with a large group. The bus was very comfortable and accommodating and lunch which was included was quite plentiful we thought. We had a bit of free time to shop but mostly David’s commentary was much appreciated.

This was a very good tour. We got to see the highlights of Oxford and Cambridge, which is what we wanted. Do know that each city has a lot to offer and you won't get to see everything there is to see. This is a very good overview of both. The meeting point for the tour isn't that easy to find, so leave yourself a lot of time to find it. But once on the bus, we were well taken care of. Good tour leader. Good bus driver. We always felt well taken care of. I do recommend this tour.

This tour was 10 1/2 hours long. Out of this time we only spent 4 hours actually touring the included sites of Oxford and Cambridge. The rest of the time was spent traveling on the bus. Out of the 2 hours at each site, the guided portion only lasted about 1 hour and the rest of the time was on your own. No maps were provided so that you could find your way around, so everyone had to explore in a very limited area in order to find your way back to the bus. The guide was a very nice young man and the commentary he provided was very
informative. However, we had quite a large group including some older people and he walked quite rapidly from place to place. Everyone was not able to keep up with him and he began his commentary when just a few people were surrounding him. The rest of
the group missed part or sometimes all of what he was saying. My recommendation would be to not visit both sites on one tour in one
day. If someone is going to pay this much and have to spend so much time traveling to different sites, it would be much better to just
go to one site and have more of a guided tour rather than just being sent out on your own for such a significant period of time. It would
be much better to provide guided commentary for the full two hours or at least provide maps if the group is going to be given time to
explore on their own. I don't feel I received good value for the cost of the tour.

Didn't enjoy the tour

Not enough time to really see all the attractions and enjoy the tour. Difficult guide to follow. Didn't seem interested on the tour.

When we went on our Oxford and Cambridge tour, we arrived early to ensure we would catch out bus. The ticket number given to us was wrong, but thankfully the tour guides were quick and ready to help us. Our tour guide was a previous student of Oxford, so along the drive to Oxford we were able to learn about what the experience for a typical student would be at the university. Funny enough, she married someone from Cambridge so we had that input from her as well! She was also very informed regarding the history of both universities, so I felt we learned over and above what most tours would have provided. It was fantastic in this respect, however due to an individual arriving back late to the bus, our second half to Cambridge was considerably rushed and we were allowed minimal time at the King Cross Church. Nonetheless, our tour guide gave us a great introduction to these two places. We would definitely visit them both again on a single trip.

What a tour! Thoroughly enjoyed! Our tour guide Antonio is too good! He has a knack of making every information interesting! These two places bring out the feeling of respect towards knowledge and research! We are glad that we visited this place with our teen age son.He is totally impressed. Also thanks to Antonio for suggesting good places to eat in Kensington area. Those places turned out to be really good!

The Oxford and Cambridge sights were beautiful, I would give that a 5 star, however our guide Debbie was a disaster. This tour was booked through Viator and subbooked through Golden Tours.
At the start, Debbie was extremely unorganized at the check-in process and let folks on the bus who were on a different tour. She was very grumpy and treated the passengers of the tour as if we were 5 years old. She made many negative and rude comments about the Chinese tourists and was ready to leave a few behind, when time came and they were not on the bus. In the meantime, she even told one lady on the bus, that there was no time to go to the bathroom, and that in the hour she gave to us, should have been used for the toilets...how rude! At the end of the trip, she even took a nap on the bus on our way back. Debbie was a hot mess, but the bus driver was great, as were the locations. BTW, I would suggest dropping the box lunch, as the cheese sandwich and onion chutney was not for everyone. We ended up picking up food during the stop at the traveler center and eating that, there are also really good cafes and such in Oxford and Cambridge.
