You’ll be picked up from your London hotel in the morning on the day after Christmas, known as Boxing Day, for a day trip to Warwick Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon and Oxford. As you travel by air-conditioned coach, your guide will explain the history of Boxing Day, a traditional, secular holiday that dates back to the Middle Ages, when servants and tradesmen would receive gifts from their superiors after the Christmas celebrations were over.

Make your way north to Warwick Castle, a medieval castle built in 1068 by William the Conqueror. Travel back in time as you tour the castle by foot with your guide. Immerse yourself in the days of battles, banquets and royal ceremonies as you explore the castle walls and its dark dungeons that lurk within. Then take a walk around the impressive gardens.

Hop back in the coach for a short drive to Stratford-upon-Avon, home of the world's greatest playwright, William Shakespeare. Take an informative tour of the town, which lies on the River Avon, and enjoy a photo opportunity at Shakespeare's birthplace before enjoying lunch at Marlowe's Restaurant, a popular local restaurant serving up classic English food.

Admire the beautiful rolling hills of the Cotswolds as you travel to your next stop, the historic town of Oxford. Known as the ‘City of Dreaming Spires,’ Oxford is a vibrant city full of culture and heritage.

Take a walking tour of the city to see many famous colleges, including the oldest university in the country, Oxford University. You’ll also visit Christchurch, where many scenes in the Harry Potter films were filmed.

After your Oxford sightseeing tour, hop in the coach and make your way back to central London, located about 1.5 hours away, where your Boxing Day tour ends.

This was a little disappointing. We would have done the tour another day if we had known that not everything would be available. Not clear at all in the advertising. Warwick castle was excellent as was the drive through Cotswalds - very pretty in the snow. Very disappointed in Oxford as couldn't get into Christchurch which had been the selling point with the kids who are Harry Potter fans. We may have chosen a different tour if we had known ahead this would be closed. Our tour guide was a bit jaded and only going through the motions. I would not recommend doing this tour on a public holiday.
