Day 1: London Oxenholme Bowness-on-WindermereMake your way to the main ticket office at the Euston Station in central London to collect your round-trip train tickets from your tour representative. Then, board the 8am train to travel independently to Lake District National Park.
Some 3 hours later, arrive in Oxenholme where you disembark and meet your local guide for a ride in an air-conditioned coach. Ogle Cumbria’s peaks and listen to informative commentary as you travel to Coniston Water, the third largest lake in the park. Board a sightseeing boat and enjoy a memorable cruise over this sparkling stretch of water set against rolling hills and the famous Old Man of Coniston fell.
Your next stop is Hill Top, the charming former home of children’s author Beatrix Potter. Bought in 1905 with proceeds from her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, the preserved home's quaint rooms and English cottage garden brim with her possessions and writing paraphernalia. Wander around the property, which looks almost the same as when Potter lived there, and visit the National Trust shop to buy souvenirs.
Afterward, visit the medieval village of Hawkshead, one of the Lake District’s prettiest spots. Explore the cobbled streets lined with shops and eateries. Stop in one of the pubs, restaurants or caf?s to buy lunch. Continue to Lindeth Howe Country Hotel, another former home of Beatrix Potter, perched on the banks of Lake Windermere. Here, enjoy your included afternoon tea and magical views over the lake.
After delicious refreshments, take a ride to your 3- or 4-star hotel in or around Bowness-on-Windermere for your overnight stay. Enjoy the evening at leisure. For dinner, you might check out at one of Bowness’ many inviting restaurants.
Overnight: 3- or 4-star hotel in or around Bowness-on-Windermere
Day 2: Bowness-on-Windermere Oxenholme London (B)After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a day free to explore Bowness and Windermere independently.
One way to absorb the full beauty of Lake Windermere is on a cruise aboard a steam-powered vessel. Many of the steamboats and cruisers operate a hop-on, hop-off service so you can visit scenic spots along its shores like Wray Castle or Ambleside. Alternatively, browse Bowness’ shops on a leisurely walk.
In the late afternoon, enjoy a convenient transfer from your hotel back to Oxenholme to catch your return train to London. Your experience concludes at approximately 9:30pm when your train arrives at Euston.

We enjoyed our trip to the Lake District very much. We booked a hotel near Euston Station and were able to leave our luggage at the station, since we were going to another hotel when we came back, and only needed a backpack with needed items for overnight. There was so much to see, as we rode the train to the Lake District and back the next day.
Probably our favorite part was visiting Beatrix Potter's home, but we enjoyed learning about the area with our driver Peter Cole I think. He was very helpful, answered questions and gave us the highlights of the area.
The hotel was wonderful and very comfortable. Our room overlooked a valley with a castle in the distance. We enjoyed the afternoon tea.
We were surprised that our breakfast, lunch and dinner meals, that were listed on our reservations as inclusions in our tour, were not included. I don't know why, but that was very disappointing and rather inconvenient. We paid for our lunch at the hotel, which was delicious, and the chef was able to make a glutin-free meal for my daughter, who has severe Celiac's disease, and usually carries her own food.

LOVED the Lake District! The Lindeth Howe was charming although the room we were given overlooked a car park- not exactly the best view- especially in a place with so much natural beauty. The tour on Day 1 was well planned and the driver/guide good. The return to Oxelholme on Day 2 was awful. Despite confirming and reconfirming the return arrangements to Oxelholme train station with the hotel/tour company multiple times as suggested by Evans Staff at London Euston there was no transport arranged to bring us back to the train station on Day 2. Pegasus Taxi service saved the day and after a hair-rising drive back to Oxelhome we caught our train to London with a minute to spare. A sad ending to a trip to this beautiful part of England.

It was a very enjoyable tour the hotel was very nice, a little far from the town too far to walk but a short Taxi ride. My only comment, is instructions were to be at the Euston station at 7.45 am for 8.00 a.m. I thought the train left at 8.00 and was getting agitated as the representative didn't show until 8.00. Apart from that it was an excellent tour.
