This 2,5-3 hour small group tour starts at Rotterdam Central Station at 2pm, where your knowledgeable and fun guide will pick you up at 1:45am, and where you collect the bikes. In this personable and informative tour you will bike through the city centre at a leisurely pace stopping at all the Highlights for information and exploration. Topics and sights include: Rotterdam history, modern architecture, Rotterdam harbor, culture, street art, urban development, Dutch food, and hip & happening initiatives.
In the first half of the tour you will explore the city centre on the north side of the Meuse river. This part includes impressive modern architecture and the historical city centre. You will visit Central Station, the city hall, the medieval Laurens church, Cube houses, a visit inside the Markthal, and the Old harbor.
Half way we will cross the river Meuse, biking over the Erasmus bridge, to explore the newly redeveloped area on the south bank of the river. Here you will hear everything about the harbour, the new skyline of the city, and hip & happening initiatives. You will see the famous and beautiful Hotel New York, Kop van Zuid and the hip Katendrecht. In this area you will also have a break in a real hidden treasure: the Fenix Food Factory, an alternative hip market with local food and treats (drinks and food not included).
On the last part of the tour your guide will show you hidden street art, nice areas for going out/ shopping, and crazy outdoor art.
At the end of the tour, you'll ride back to your original departure point at Central Station arriving around 1pm.
Please note: Meeting time is 1:45 pm at the Tourist Information desk at Rotterdam Central Station. Your guide will be waiting for you directly in front of the Tourist Information. You will recognize your guide by a big blue folder on which Inside Rotterdam is written.
