Take in the best of Buenos Aires on two sell-out tours: a behind-the scenes look at the legendary La Bombonera and El Monumental soccer stadiums, and a city sightseeing walking tour. Enjoy both tours over the course of two consecutive days, and you get to choose which one to experience first. Each tour begins and ends in centrally located city locations. Behind-The-Scenes Stadiums Tour (6 hours)
Snap a shot of the church where Diego Maradona married, and then head to La Bombonera, or ‘candy box’ because of its shape, home to the popular Boca Juniors soccer team. See the seating area for ‘player number 12,’ a changing room dating back to 1976, and stand on the field itself with prime views of Maradona’s box. In the Passion of Boca Juniors Museum, learn about the team’s history, evolution of the jersey, and see the trophy room.

Break for lunch (own expense), and continue to El Monumental, the home stadium of River Plate, which opened in the late 1930s and hosted the 1978 FIFA World Cup. After a stroll around the stadium, follow your guide into the press conference room, training field and trophy hall. You’ll see the presidential box, preferential seats, volleyball and basketball micro-stadiums, and most alluring of all, the pitch. The Museo River Plate covers the history of the famous stadium as well as the River Plate team.

Buenos Aires City Walking Tour (6 hours)
From San Martin Plaza, take the subway with your guide to the Obelisco, where Argentina’s flag was raised for the first time in the city, and stroll down the vibrant 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest avenue of the world. At Plaza de Mayo, Buenos Aires’ main square, pass by the Metropolitan Cathedral, the old town hall of Cabildo and the pink-hued presidential palace of Casa Rosada.

Travel into the heart of San Telmo, one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods buzzing with bohemian flair. Pass by antique markets, colonial buildings with original facades and candle street lightings (known as ‘faroles’). Enjoy free time for lunch (own expense). Take the bus to La Boca, a working-class barrio where the Boca Juniors' stadium is located, and visit Caminito, a colorful artist haven of corrugated-iron houses and studios, and hear tango music in the cobblestone streets.

Back aboard a bus, admire the skyscrapers of Puerto Madero and catch sight of Puente de la Mujer (Bridge of the Woman), a rotating footbridge. Get off to explore the well-heeled district of Recoleta and then wrap up the tour in Cementerio de la Recoleta, a mini-city of elegant resting places reserved for Argentina’s wealthiest and most important figures, including Eva Per?n.
