Explore the amazing Peninsula Valdes, a world-heritage site, on this full-day tour from Puerto Madryn. The area is famous for unique animal species since it's a suitable place for them to live and breed. On this day out, you'll be accompanied by both bilingual guides and naturalists.

Stop At: Centro De Visitantes Istmo Ameghino, Puerto Madryn, Province of Chubut, Patagonia

The first stop is the interpretive center Carlos Ameghino Isthmus, where you'll learn about the flora, fauna and geology of the peninsula. Also, you'll enjoy the panoramic lookout point of Golfo Nuevo, San Jose and the Island of Birds. Don't forget to bring your camera for unforgettable photo opportunities!

Stop At: Puerto Piramides, Puerto Piramides, Province of Chubut, Patagonia

This is followed by another stop in the town of Puerto Piramides where, depending on the season, you can take a whale watching tour (optional, at extra cost).

Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Caleta Valdes, Puerto Piramides, Province of Chubut, Patagonia

Depending on the season, weather and the tides, you'll be visiting the following places in a different order or combined with other stops: Caleta Valdes, Punta Norte and Punta Cantor to observe elephant seals, penguins and sea lions.

Stop At: Peninsula Valdes, Puerto Madryn, Province of Chubut, Patagonia

As you venture back, look out for some of the wild Argentinean land animals including guanacos, rheas, foxes, maras (Patagonian hare), armadillos and skunks.At sunset, you'll arrive back at Puerto Madryn and conclude the tour.

Really enjoyed this tour! Unfortunately the whale watching trip was cancelled, as the weather was really bad so windy!, but the rest was great. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable and it was a huge help that he spoke such good english. It was nice to have such a small group, with myself and another couple and the guide in a car rather than a big bus load. We saw plenty of wild life - elephant seals, sea lions, patagonian hares, burrowing owls, birdlife, heaps of guanacos and some southern right whales in their breeding ground at sunrise which was amazing. The Peninsula Valdes is an incredible place.
I did have to chase up a refund for the whale watching, but once I chased it back they have told me I will have it in 3 - 5 days which is pretty good. would have been nice not to need to chase it up but not a big deal.
The only thing I would change would be maybe making it clearer on the initial email to bring lunch as I only brought snacks and we didn't stop until about 3 or 4 pm in the town in the Peninsula Valdes. not a huge deal but just the little organisational things can make all the difference.

Whale watching cruise was great. Knowledgeable tour guide with good English. Saw penguins, elephant seals and beautiful orcas from afar, guanacos and rheas.

Peninsula Valdes is a great experience. The whale-watching was fun, and the sites we visited to see the seals and penguins were beautiful. The tour was excellent our guide spoke both Spanish and English well enough to provide good information on the tour for everyone. Both the service and the sight were excellent on this tour.
