Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Journey through a land sculpted by fire and ice in Kootenay National Park. The trail switchbacks moderately for the first half of the hike, through regrowth from the most recent fire, allowing for unparalleled views down over Vermillion Pass back to Castle Mountain. You then follow the trail between sheer towering walls of Mount Stanley and Storm Mountain until you leave the forest behind to emerge in a land of ice and rock and may even find some fossils! You will be treated to views of Stanley Glacier creeping down the side of Mt. Stanley towards the valley bottom.

This trail begins in the Valley of the Ten Peaks at stunning Moraine Lake. The drive alone to this location is worth it in itself. We’ll spend our time hiking leisurely along a old growth forest trail to Consolation Lakes, where you’ll see the Fay Glacier stop Mount Babel. The trail turns into single track and the immensity of the the valley and its peaks becomes even more apparent. Near to your final destination is the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House where cakes and tea are served all day long be sure to bring some cash! Just past the teahouse you will be treated to views of the six glaciers feeding into the valley and Lake Louise. If time and group ability allows you may be able to hike further to view historic Abbot Pass.

Trail restrictions due to bear activity make this hike to Larch Valley the perfect one to take with a guided group. Beginning from the Valley of the Ten Peaks at Moraine Lake, the trail climbs, really climbs, up 10 switchbacks to Larch Valley on a well maintained trail. After reaching the Valley, the trail easily ambles through a larch forest and then begins to gain elevation again towards Sentinel Pass and the Minestimma Lakes. Towards the Pass, views of the Ten Peaks, Moraine Lake and gigantic Mt. Temple (3,543 m/11,625 ft) will complete your experience. Please note that this hike does not continue to the top of Sentinel Pass.

We hiked Johnston Canyon. Loved the catwalk along Johnston creek! Gorgeous waterfalls and great photo opportunities! Thibeau was our guide and he was excellent! Once at the top of the canyon we saw the ink pots and had lunch, which was great, by the Johnston Creek. Worth the hike!

The hike was great but the forest was ordinary. A regular forest juts like we know them. Don't expect to see blue water or amazing rivers. It was a normal forest with great trees and vegetation. The guide a girl for once XD was really nice and informative. It wasn't what i expected but still, it was nice.

We were looking for something more active. Lots of stopping and not active enough.

A really nice day shared with Tibo our guide and another traveller. Tibo gave us all his attention, knowledge and affability throughout. He was always attentive to what we needed. Lovely hike to the base of Stanley Glacier and all completed before the rain began!!

Jeff was very knowledgeable. He kept a good pace while not rushing us. Lunch was good.

What a fabulous outing. We hiked Johnston Canyon right up to the Ink Pots. Becky, our guide, shared great information about the area, and allowed plenty of time to catch the sights. Lunch up at the Ink Pots was nearly as enjoyable as the scenery.

It was a beautiful hike, but it rained and the smoke from the fires obscured the views. two of the people on our hike turned back. I think if the weather would have been better, they would have made the hike/.

Lake Louise is spectacular, but it can be really busy so getting there without driving is one of the big advantages of a tour traffic and parking can be a hassle. I appreciated that I was able to book this guided hike less than 24 hours in advance even though they ask for more notice on their website. Our guide, Edward, was patient, encouraging it's just around the corner...you are doing great, and knowledgeable. On the drive out to Lake Louise from Banff, he told us a lot about the area which was really interesting. We had different levels of experience within our group a total of 7 - many of us did not know each other, but that was never a problem. Even though this hike is very popular and can get really busy, especially in the summer, I still highly recommend it.
