Our guide was a young student-Ben. Gave an very good, informative, interesting history of this part of the city as it was when it was the Jewish Quarter. The history of the different ethnic groups of Jews who lived here was very interesting. Well worth the hour and one-half walk.

We enjoyed this tour. It's actually a 2 hour tour- not 1 as advertised. Our tour guide josh was very informative. The down side is that the area is now run down and quite dirty which was upsetting to see.

After reading about the strong Jewish community in Montreal we wanted to see where it all began. Well, Josh, our guide did not leave a stone untouched. He was a wealth of information and presented it in a conversational manner telling the story of how it began up from where it is now. We walked at a leisurely pace which made it very doable. Told my friends about it when we returned home and peaked their interest.

Our fantastic guide, Josh, took us on a tour of what was once a bustling Jewish neighborhood and now, although multicultural, still honors its past. His narration was filled with historical data, personal anecdotes, and a detailed knowledge of Montreal's Jewish past that brought it alive to all of us. This was definitely a highlight of my visit to Montreal.
