Discover Victoria, BC's charming island capital on this full-day tour to the world-class Butchart Gardens, Canada’s famous Davids Tea, and local chocolatier, Terrible Truffles.
This tour begins with a friendly pickup at your hotel, where you'll meet your guide in the lobby. Once all guests are on board, you'll drive 30-minutes outside of the city center to catch a ferry in Tsawwassen. Cross the Fraser delta and pass by farmlands before arriving at your ferry for a 90-minute cruise. There are plenty of amenities on board (restaurant, gift shops, toilets) to pass the time. This is a great opportunity to take in the spectacular views, where you may spot an orca, eagle or even seals, along with the beautiful scenery.
Upon arriving at Swartz Bay, you'll make your way to Victoria. While driving down the Saanich Peninsula, you'll learn how a small fort turned into a bustling provincial capital. And as you approach, you will see the grand Parliament building and Empress Hotel, which define the city skyline and are both legacies of the great Francis Rattenbury.
During the orientation tour, stop by Humbolt House to sample rich, delicate, and handmade truffles at Terrible Truffles. Humboldt House is a Victorian-style mansion built in 1893. After a fun-filled afternoon, it's off for a 30-minute drive to the award-winning national historic site, Butchart Gardens (approx. 90 minute visit).
