We start this beautiful trip by slowly letting the city behind us and getting inside the Cajon del Maipo zone, located at the south east of Santiago. In this section of the tour, you will have the opportunity of looking how the city starts changing from the busy streets and the constant noise of the downtown to the easy and country life of the mountains.

Our first stop will be a short visit to El Tinoco tunnel, an old tunnel used to bring mining products via train from the mines located at the high grounds to the city of San Jose de Maipo. After that, we will head to the San Jose volcano zone right next to the border with Argentina in the Andes. There, you will have the opportunity of spotting a beautiful snowy landscape and, if weather conditions are appropriate, you will have the opportunity of doing a short trek to the Andes.

We will reach the time at the feet of the volcano for having a light lunch right before commencing our trip to the next destination: El Yeso lake, an outstanding lake located at the middle of the mountains, which is the most important source of clean water of Santiago. You will be amazed by the lovely combination of impressive mountains completely covered with snow with the huge extension of water that lays at their feet. It is a place for resting your eyes as well as energizing your soul.

At 5:00p.m. we will start heading back to the city on a journey that takes between 2 to 2.5-hour to your hotel.
