WOW! Did we luck out finding Dubrovnik Top Tours and Boris! I cannot say enough great things about our experience. First, Boris picked us up at our hotel, on time in a beautiful, clean, large SUV. Within minutes, we knew we had hit the jackpot as far as tour guides go. believe me...we have had both GREAT and not so great guides! Boris speaks perfect English...and is fluent enough that he can be witty. He had us laughing quite a bit. He is SHARP! He knows the history of the region and skillfully dishes it out in perfect doses. Specifically, while we learned SO much, we never felt overwhelmed by what was coming at us. This particular tour to Montenegro also evolved into a trip to Mostar, Bosnia. All my husband did was mention some curiosity about traveling there and Boris was eager to accommodate. He gave us options how to make the day work and see it all. We even ate dinner at an AMAZING seafood restaurant that was filled mostly with locals, not tourists! The muscles, black risotto, bread...OMG!!!! Here is the thing...we were in three different countries that day. Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia It didn't matter where we were, Boris was lauded like a celebrity. He is well liked and it's not difficult to understand why. We liked him so well, that by the end of the first 15 hours yes...that was Day 1 we booked another full day with him to see the National Parks, Plitvice and Krka. He planned it so well and skillfully that we didn't suffer horrible crowds at the parks or at borders. Sure, some of this was that we were at the tail end of high season, BUT...there were plenty of people at both parks. Boris, just knew where to go first and why! We spoke with another couple who said they suffered in the crowds just two days before. We didn't have that experience at all thanks to some luck and some Boris strategy. We finished that day with another amazing restaurant favorite of the locals, enjoying a simple Croatian meal of lamb, potatoes, roasted veggis, salad and more of the best bread with olive oil I have ever eaten. If youre looking for a day trip excursion from Dubovnik, dont look any further. You will not find anything better than this excursion to Montenegro with Dubrovnik Top Tours. Our guide for the day was Igor and he was one of the best guides Ive ever had. He was friendly, engaging, and open to discuss any and all subjects. He patiently answers all questions, and one of the travelers in our group asks A LOT of questions. Not a problem for Igor. He never rushed us and made many interesting stops. In fact he went significantly over our allotted time for the day. He very much tailors the day to your interests and wishes. For example, a few in our group were wine lovers so he took us to a very interesting wine bar in Kotor that we enjoyed very much. When we got to a stop, he would ask how much time we wanted to spend. He would then give us some directions and suggestions and turn us loose to explore on our own for whatever amount of time we desired. Then you meet at the agreed upon time and place, and its off to the next location. For us, it was the perfect balance of having an all day guide, but also a little time on your own to explore, shop, eat, etc.
And the route of the tour and the stops we made was fantastic. Very beautiful and very different than the Dubrovnik area. We made a breakfast stop in a small seaside restaurant with fantastic views, and then stopped in Perast with Our Lady of the Rocks church on an island. Next was the amazing city of Kotor where Cruise ships stop. On the way back, we stopped for a great authentic meal eating outdoors along the banks of a peaceful stream, and finished in the gorgeous town of Cavtat just a few miles south of Dubrovnik to watch the sunset. One of the best days of our four week trip. By the way, Cavtat was a very impressive waterfront town with a beautiful park, swimming, big yachts, and many restaurants. When I come back to this area, I will look into staying in Cavtat.

In summary, Igor was a great guide, the stops were stunning, and it was one of the best days of our trip. If you want to do a day trip, this is the one you want to do. Enjoy.

A very good tour for anyone who wants to take a day trip from Dubrovnik. The tour was beautiful with lots of things to see including the beautiful city of Kotor. The guide was very friendly and allowed us to customize the tour to our preference. I highly recommend it!
