The town's fairytale red-roofed castle is surrounded by landscaped gardens, and features grand courtyards, halls and furnishings. The castle's development over the 14th to 19th centuries has been well preserved, both in layout and architectural detail. The mighty castle complex stands on a rock promontory sculpted by the Vltava River, dominating the attractive medieval town below.
Together with the magnificent Church of St. Vitus, the castle is a unique feature of the entire region. The town of Cesky Krumlov is situated in a valley surrounded by the Blansko Forest to the north and the undulating foothills of Sumava to the south and west.

    Cesky Krumlov is a beautiful town. Guide spoke in both English and Spanish, so he had a running commentary, which didn't bother us. He was knowledgeable about Czech history. Lunch was ok. There was a lot of downtime though, after lunch. Maybe in the winter, the tour could be a bit shorter, to get back to Prague a little earlier, so we can do a bit more sightseeing. (Date of tour: November 27, 2018)

    Our English tour guide was hard to understand, a long day in the bus actual more time in the bus than on the tour. Lunch was included, should be an option as we wasted around 1 hour. A quick bit would have given more time to sight see the beautiful location.

    We had a lovely outing to Cesky Krumlov. The meeting point is easy to find. Nice drive in the bus. A overview of Czech Rep history was given to us en route to the town. Once there you are amazed at the sights of the town. Our tour guide was Czech and presented the tour both in English and Spanish. We toured the town and had aprox 2 hours of free time depending on how long you stayed for lunch, which was more than enough time to explore and take plenty of photos.

    Yes, the trip to Cesky Krumlov is a bit long but well worth it! The village is beautiful and the tour guide was very knowledgeable pointing out sites on the way up to Cesky Krumlov and also talking with us while we were there for a bit. It was a joy to get away from the busy city and see something different from Czech Republic. Definitely recommend!
