Our guide, Nicholas, was interesting, attentive, engaging, and informative. He had selected art to clearly show difference between street art and graffiti or gang graphics like we have in the USA. I look forward to returning to USA and studying graffiti to find street art gems. I hope i do find some street art.

We had a great guide. It was nice to see Athens hidden gems and walk through different areas of the city to see the Art.

Nik was a great tour guide. This was our highlight of our Athens trip.

I took the street art tour with Achilles on basically the Greek equivalent of Labor Day. I selfishly chose that day because most shops, museums, and sites were closed, thus limiting my options in Athens. I had been to Athens several times before, and was looking for something a little more off the beaten path. This tour certainly delivered!! I saw the less touristy areas of Gazi and Metaxourgeio with a very tiny group 3 our guide on such a quiet day due to the holiday.

Achilles is a street artist himself, thus increasing the level of insight and knowledge he brings to the tour. Sure, you will see street art on your own on even the briefest of visits to the Athens center, but learning about the artists and history behind some of the pieces adds a new dimension and appreciation. Like reading the placards alongside museum pieces, a tour guide provides the stories and insight for a fuller understanding. Achilles gave me a great foundation for spotting other pieces on my own......both later that week and again later in the summer upon a return trip.

Would definitely consider another tour with Alternative Athens in the future!

I loved that the tour was led by one of Athens' street artists! Nick was a fantastic guide he shared his knowledge about the art pieces and the artists, as well as information about Greece's political climate, history, etc. and how all of that tied in together. The tour was fun, the art was great, and the guide was excellent! My only wish is that it lasted longer! I was getting so much energy from the art and from Nick that I could've easily gone for another few hours! :

We highly recommend this tour. The guide was an artist and was very knowledgeable about the artists and their work and the social and cultural ideas expressed. The walk was at a slow pace with a stop for a coffee break. The tour was easy to book on-line, the start point easy to find and good directions back to the hotel when it was over. Great tour for photographers too!

This was such a fun tour. Our Tour Guide, Nicholas was very informative about the Athens Street Art and how it has evolved over the years. He was fun to talk to and we really learned a lot about street art. Thanks Nicholas!!
