Stroll along the ancient thoroughfare that still follows the medieval street pattern to locate what remains of the old town: ancient ruins, stately mansions, mosques and churches, bathhouses and bazaars. Study and interpret engravings, plans and maps relating to the physical growth of Athens, and explore what evidence reveals about the domestic and urban life of Athenians in the period!

Over the course of this walking tour, your guide aims to give a broad but comprehensive look at the city, explaining in detail how the city as a whole has been planned and built, as well as the institutions, individuals, and visionaries who are a part of its long, compelling story.
