From Athens the trip departs towards the Peloponnese along the coast most of the way for approximately 2 hours and passing the famous Corinth canal before reaching Patra where you are guided to the central pedestrianised street and shopping area which is just beside the sea to take in the central sights. From there we take a short trip to the world famous Archaia Clauss Winery set in a beautiful location with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. At the winery we will have the change to take an extensive tour around the various historic buildings whilst the extensive history of this winery is discussed along with the methods of local wine production. In good weather the tour can also include a walk to the local fields to see the grape varieties on the vine. Set at a very relaxed pace there is also a tasting of the various wines produced along with your expert guide from the Winery and with plenty of time to walk around the grounds and purchase from the winery shop if desired. On our return we will pass by the outstanding Rio-Antirio suspension bridge connecting the peninsula with mainland Greece and in good weather, stop at an idyllic seaside taverna where you can enjoy lunch, sample some more local wines & discuss the wonderful tastes among friends.
